So the blood DLC is on its way (didnt give a release date, not that I can tell), and it seems to be as graphic as the one in Rome 2, if not more. With burning animations, disease animations and other such effects.
There will also be some free-LC, the Tin Isles mercenaries which are just Celtic mercs that you can hire.
The rally point also goes into info on TW: Kingdom and an interview with the guy who voiced Attila.
Their sense of humour is controversial...

Eh, I enjoyed it.
And you could use less inflammatory language you know.
Yes, you're right (not about the sense of humour part, I still find it horrible), so I edited the relevant phrase.

Thank you
Anyways,
Amazon now has the Blood and Burning DLC up for $8 on their store. Considering that its not yet up on Steam, Im really hoping that the $8 is just a placeholder...

Definitely a placeholder, it'd be a PR suicide to augment the price so drastically.
About the DLC, I was never a fan of gore, still believing that the blood of SS was ideal, not like the exagerrations of Shogun or Rome II, but I'm really put off by the vomiting part. The Peryite colour makes it look less disgustive, but I feel they crossed the line, here...
Hooahguy 18:25 03-24-2015
I think its nice for immersion, though I could have done without the vomiting, so Im in agreement there.

Any mention of patches for Rome 2? I'd sort of hoped they hadn't quite stopped yet...
Hooahguy 18:49 03-24-2015
Im fairly certain that they are done patching Rome 2.
EDIT: Also a
statement from Will from CA about the price:

Yeh, I could do without the sick dudes vomiting....
Also, we've read before about all Celtic units having the guerrilla ability...but I guess I hadn't connected the dots to realize that pertained to artillery as well. Stealth onagers just seem a bit strange.

Suspect you're right and makes me feel all the better about the decision not to buy Attila. At this point I see no reason not to wait till it's 75% off.
Celtic Onager?
Oh man, I'm going to have to learn how to mod this to cut out the nutty stuff.
I don't mind the vomiting too must but that colour is disgusting - they could have made it lime green and it would have been much more realistic whilst being less disturbing.
Hooahguy 16:18 03-25-2015
The Celtic Onager having guerrilla deployment enabled is ridiculous. Im sure that modders will take it out. Should be rather simple, its just a trait that could probably be removed easily via pack file manager.

Guerilla deployment of Celtic units outside Celtic territory is largely ridiculous, but a Celtic Onager is flat out insane.
Mind you, the whole Hunnic premise is quite nuts, it presents them as this unrelenting tide which spent 50-odd years rampaging across Europe and destroying cities when, in fact, that was mostly done by the Germanic tribes like the Vandals and Visgoths.
Hooahguy 21:06 03-25-2015
Eh, Im fine with their infantry getting the guerrilla deployment but not their artillery.
Anyways heres the trailer for it. I like it.

The blood and burning DLC is on sale on steam now for $2.99
I am waiting for it to download on steam. It said it is playable as of today 3/25. I have to wait for the Celtic DLC to download first.

So the general consensus Ive been reading on the blood pack is that its not all that great. The blood disappears after about 10 seconds.
BUT
Radious to the rescue!
He released a blood mod which brings it up to par with the Rome 2 blood pack, so Im rather satisfied with it now. Only problem is that Im getting a bit of a performance hit in big battles with a lot of blood.
JeromeBaker 16:18 03-26-2015
I can see why they were dissapointed Hooahguy. I thought the blood and gore DLC on R2 was far superior out of the box.
I am also having lag issue that I didnt have previuosly and I havent even downloaded Radius' mod which keeps the blood stains longer. I had to turn the graphics settings down a bit to get performance similar to what I remembered before. I did take a couple weeks break and re-downloaded Empire and Shogun 2 to mess around with . I wouldnt think installing those older games would have peeled back my direct x or something similar, right?
I have to say I was pretty dissapointed last night when starting up a new Pict campaign.
<Edit> - Lag wasn't as bad this afternoon as I remembered from last night.....
