    Might be Russian propaganda...

With that said, these systems do exist. The Russians are now developing Krasuha-4 and I happen to know that even a tiny nation like Sweden has rather advanced toys to create havoc for electronic devices (shouldn't come as a surprise, Ericsson who used to be big in the telemarket industry on the side worked for the Swedish electronic warfare division).

That has got to be the dumbest test for self awareness I have ever heard of.

Being better than the worst does not inherently make you good. But being better than the rest lets you brag.

Yet many reality a TV contestants wouldn't pass it...

Apparently I was wrong on this, there is no need to be afraid.

“It’s understandable to be nervous about such a formidable technology,” added Alperin. “But remember that we humans are creating it—we can see to it that our inevitable servitude is far less cruel than it otherwise would be.”

While some prominent figures, including Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk, have expressed concerns about AI development getting out of control, the assembled researchers told reporters that the brutality of future AI masters was not only manageable but was also far outweighed by the benefits of the technology. According to experts, given the immense potential of artificially intelligent machines and the fact that they can be programmed to provide humans with sufficient caloric energy to fulfill their commands, the risk was minimal.

You seem to be overtrustful to placating expert voices. Perhaps they have their reasons to make it look more harmless then it is. Job and grants are the first two that come to my mind.

Generally speaking, it is not an uncommon thing for human inventions to go out of control, be mishandled or start functioning in a totally unexpected way.

The onion is a spoof site. So Husar's beliefs are being expressed in an ironic manner.

The only reason I shared it was because I thought other people may want to laugh about it as well.
But I am sorry, I forgot that I, as a German, can never expect others to think I have a sense of humor, my fault.

It is not about having the sense of humor, but about irony detection. Since you switch from ironic to serious way too often, sometimes it is difficult to say which is which. Especially if one is not aware of the nature of some sites.
