Le Pen is trash. While I in general agree with the Front National it would be better if they just cease to exist and start all over again, there is a lot more scum they must get rid of if they want to be a decent rightwing party. Start anew and make it very clear for the radical-right that they aren't represented.

I don't argue on the political nature of the party (and the persons) in question. But it is stupid to say something like: "See, they try to vie for power - well, they are nazis anyway, and that explains everything".

True that, it's not fair. I am pretty righrwing myself and I just don't take it seriously anymore.
If you happen to have a point by all means share it. Or shut up untill you come up with something better.

A lot are, the Front National is far from cleaned from radicals. That is a pity really as they have the best ideas.

Not in lot of Parties that a daughter kicked out her father... Which by the way, means the party is in fact a Family business...
When the father Jean Marie, was quite happy to be in a perpetual opposition Marine Le Pen wants power.
The problem she has, is the Front National is a confederation of small parties, going from Nazi/Ultra-nationalists, Catholic anti-republican movements, anti-Muslim and all kind of lunatics, and others bunch who are more traditionalist ultra-right/monarchists movement, Nationalists/Fascist etc.
She is a skilled politician, pillaging without shame from the left to right some ideas, and have an anti-immigration stance which appeal to the ones fired and made unemployed by the successive French Governments, all of them bowing to Merkel and EU austerity plans.
But she wants to get rid of the fringe which give her a bad name. She want to hind the roots of the Front National, and claim they have nothing to do with what this party stand for.
A little bit like Muslim Clerics pretending that ISIL as nothing to do with the Koran.
If she succeed, she will be able to siphon the votes of the more moderate rightists who became under Sarkozy's leadership more rightist, nationalist and well, racist, because it became acceptable.
So we will have a fight between a now more "acceptable" Front National" and a more classic rightist movement that Sarkozy wants as the US Republican Party, ignoring the fact that France is not the USA.
On the left side, people won't go to vote. The actual President allegedly socialist having a more rightist politic than the right won't be able to gather the leftist vote. I wish to be wrong, but the candidate I support won't be able to fight against the power of media, first layer of protection of the system, media actively engages in showing Marine Le Pen as the sole opposition.
In doing so, they hope to have a final round Le Pen vs who ever from the system, then play the card all vs-fascism as they did before. Marine Le Pen tries to avoid this, and kicking out her father (come-on, she is killing her father...) will/might help.
