    Personally, I think the study of philosophy is important because it promotes self-awareness, particularly of our own infallibility. As a result he may conclude he has THE FACTS and therefore can discover THE TRUTH.

    This is a dangerous intellectual position - and one which should be avoided at all costs.

    Beyond that, I find philosophical intercourse enjoyable.
