Historical Battles & Historical Campaigns - Modding Them

Hello ...

Just curious getting the better of me again .
I know there have been a few Historical Battles modded up as we see them appear eg Hellenic TW.
I also know there is a guide on making Custom Battles .

But ! ..........

Is there a difference between the two ?
Is there options to explore in the modding & creating of new Campaigns ?

Or are the Historical Campaigns we got in VI , just 3 or 4 battles connected .

The Historical Campaigns , are just 4 battles in a row but victory unlocks them in order .
But can they be made more complex ?
eg ,,,, Is there deaths that carry over from battle to battle ?
