    Default Thea: The Awakening

I picked this up for 40% off on the GOG fall sale and ended up losing most of my evening to it. I thought I'd pass along my recommendation in case anyone else is looking.

It's a fantasy 4x, with heavy RPG elements. Dare I say like Elemental should have been?
You starting village is very small- and it looks like you can't found new ones(?), so to get resources outside your village's reach... or to explore, complete quests, ect you have to send out expeditions. You assign specific villagers to either gather resources or expeditions. Each villager has specific stats and if they die- they're gone for good, so I tend to actually care about them a little.

Anyhow, here's a trailer. I don't know how long my fascination with the game will last, but right now I'm loving it.

Is the fighting Gwent-based or what was the card-playing part?

Yeah, the fighting is card based.... and I actually kind of like it.
Your citizens have damage, life, and armor stats. Additionally, they each have support skills. Your party's cards are shuffled for each encounter and some are put into support roles with some in combat roles. You and your opponent take turns playing cards. Once finished, two rounds of combat take place. After which, surviving party members have their cards shuffled and the next round begins.
