I've done some thinking overnight and this is about where I'm at:
novice
Manasi
Zack
El Barto
Logic
Champ
Montmorency
Jabbz
Csargo
~~~~~~~~~~
Zack's basically posted himself out of any suspicion I might have of him, with today's behavior so far being the capper. He's done a great job at clearing his slot and all in all I'm pretty happy with my decision to save Choxorn on EOD2.
After taking a look at Logic at EOD yesterday, I'm moving him up a slot into the lean town category. No smoking gun that clears him, but just decent overall posts and progressions/thoughts that I have a hard time seeing come from mafia.
Champ is a tough one mostly because while his overall output hasn't been good, he was super quick to jump on the wagon of my biggest scumread at the time when I was making a serious push for Jabbz to be lynched at EOD yesterday. Somewhat doubt the two of them are partners together, which is another reason why I'd like a Jabbz flip sooner rather than later - so I can provisionally clear Champ.
Csargo made his play for Viper and succeeded but overall I think it's a case of "won the battle, lost the war" for him. Scum have fewer places to hide now and something tells me that he'll flip red.
Jabbz, if any part of my attack against you came off as an implication that you were lying about your RL commitments, then I apologize as that was not my intention. I like to think I don't resort to those tactics when hunting mafia and if it even comes close to crossing the line then that's on me. Overall though I still think you're mafia, largely due to overall output of posts and specifically what I highlighted in my last reads list - in general I think you're being far too careful and measured in your posting and I think you made a slip yesterday. But Csargo can die first.
Well then.
My present orientation is to lynch GH first at all costs.
Any comments on the night, GH? Didja try to kill novice?
I'm a townie, Monty. Are you?
Couldn't be more so.
If that wasn't you're intent then we're all good. I stand by my argument, there is a difference in the amount of time necessary to follow compared to posting. As to being careful with my posts, ensuring I use factual information with my arguments is kind of important when you're town. That you see being measured and careful as a bad thing strikes me as odd. Either way, I'm fairly convinced you're scum, so I'm not likely to change your mind anyway :P
Very busy friday and weekend ahead, pity I wasn't night-killed. I blame Zack. Or Csargo.
Remind me, what was Jabbz' slip?
I mean, it's the same story, but vice-versa: if Csargo flips town, Zack has to die.
Vote: Csargo
And how could GH even have a gut vote on Csargo if he was voting on the basis of a perceived claim by Zack - unless he wasn't voting on the basis of a perceived claim and he didn't actually understand what Zack was saying in the first place!
Montmorency 15:36 06-02-2017
And why would Csargo claim to have blocked Zack with no further comment if he understood Zack as having claimed to have blocked him?
I really hope you aren't all bussing scum who got together for the sole purpose of confusing me into voting how you want. That would be evil.
I think he might have been trying to go for a claim battle. Knowing the night results and seeing my softish claim, he probably reckoned he had little chance of surviving the day anyways.
And since I'm more of a standard roleblocker, and already seeing several people with 1x block flip, Monty and Viper claiming 1x blocks was just another box to the sketchy checklist. I figured there had to be some limit to the madness for game balance reasons... three dead 1x blocks + monty + viper + my role seemed like a bit much.
I think saying I had little chance is generous. I'd say it was closer to 0.000000001%, and even that's a stretch.
I've read this sentence over three times but still can't understand it - can you rephrase?
Empathy?
You said, 'I vote Csargo, gut feel'. Then you indicated that you knew what Zack was saying when I asked for a second opinion, but that it wasn't your place to tell me.
So, you knew that Zack was claiming to have blocked Csargo. Did you realize that before you made your vote? Because if you know that someone is claiming a block on X, and you vote X on a "gut feel", then that implies you either disregard the claim in your motivation, or you didn't understand the claim at the time you placed your vote.
What Zack was doing was pretty clear to me right away. I didn't want to come out and say it because that would be bad on a number of levels. At the same time, I knew the way I worded my posts would be something Zack picked up on and that he'd understand that I understood.
Thoughts on Zack/Csargo/Monty?
Zack I read as town. I wasn't overly impressed with Choxorn's case, but I also wasn't overly bothered by it. It was day 1 (I think?) and not much was substantial. Zack's play however has rung heavily town. He seems calm and collected, and appears to be following leads wherever they go, as opposed to having a destination in mind already and following whatever gets you there. To me that is good town behavior.
Csargo I know has been under heavy scrutiny, but to be honest I've not followed the arguments against him as thoroughly as I should have. He's on my list to ISO, and I will likely get to him soon.
Monty I'm hedging scummy against, but I have a hard time articulating the why of it, even to myself. Something just feels off about his engagements. I know that's not a helpful answer, but it's what I've got.
