King Michael, the last King of Romania and the last surviving leader of World War 2, has passed away yesterday.
With it comes to a close the chapter of royalty in Romania, a very enlightened chapter in the history of Romania where the country made leaps and bounds in terms of progress and became an important European country between the two Wars.
And as a defining moment, 23rd of August 1944 marked the turning point of the war in Europe, when King Michael turned against the Nazis and helped shorten the war by at least 6 months.
Thank you so very much, King Michael.![]()
