Default A History of Total War

Recently Gamespot released a video that outlines the entire history of TW, with some interesting bits of trivia that some of us did not know even with the TW Eras CD on TW history. Take a look for a trip down memory lane!

Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Proud

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

Interesting video of the history of our beloved game series - warts and highlights.

Frankly looks like he just looked up & quoted bits of old Gamespot reviews eg broken AI/pathfinding was a big issue from Rome1 on not new in Empire & completely ignores the big historicity issues which were already problematic from Shogun1 but again prominent in Rome1.
Also how things like height advantage was important to Shogun1, not new in Empire (though was claimed as new each game between & since).

Interesting to get dates for when Tim Ansell & Mike Simpson stepped down.
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...

Older article on the same subject by eurogamer, history of CA told in interviews by members of the company

Creation Legend: The history of The Creative Assembly

and a more recent one on the same site, mostly about the old days/beginnings of the studio - relating to Tim Ansell's story

If you remember, the M2TW Collectors Edition had a DVD package with a Making of DVD of Total War. Quite fascinating in fact, documenting the whole development.

That one - but there's also about CA in general.
