Disbanding Mercs

When you disband an army, does the army come available at the inn full strength?

I am wondering this because after my latest battle I only have anywhere from 5 to 20 people left in each merc army. Would it be best to disband these? And if I do disband them, are they available full strength to other factions?

This is a concern right now, because there have been no armies available as mercs for wa while and I know the other factions would pick them up if I gave them away, but I dont want them getting hold of the units full strength.

No, the units will have the same number of men in. The only reason to disband them is so you dont have to pay their keep.

In my expierience, the AI doesn't really use mercs. At least, not as far as I can tell.

ive seen the turks use them not sure if ive seen others though..

I have seen plenty of odd units in HRE and Byzantine armies...

There is no need to fear any action by the AI. You will crush it. If for some un known reason you cannot beat the comp no matter what the odds, then try this. hit "p" in the middle of the fight....do it alot. After one or 2 fights you will not need to hit P because you will know what the AI is going to do.
