We should see soon, yes, but the work in itself will still have to be done. Rome TW is already 17 years old after all, and a lot of the original players have long moved on from playing...

    We shall see.

Two more days until the game is released. They just released the pre-load function, so I am pre-loading it right now. There is also an enhanced graphic packs coming along the game, here is the link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1...Graphics_Pack/

I will be "reviving" my YouTube channel and focus primarily on Total War games. It is time to come home.

Personally, I would love to see a remake of Medieval: Total War even though I am aware of the fact that it had to be a remake rather than a remaster. I loved Shogun, but I adored the cultural diversity of the original Medieval game, the difference between factions that was, truth be told, more atmospheric in nature than in actual gameplay... Still, up to this day, Medieval is my favorite Total War game, and if I could sum it up ion one word, I would say - atmosphere.

Eh, what do I know. I am old and slightly intoxicated this evening, not to mention nostalgic. Let's see Rome Remastered brings back some of the life into these old bones...

100% agree on this. MTW is still my fav game, even if it's almost 20 years old.

Someone here played already? So? What with so far unplayable factions? Do they have new rosters or still Slavs are just Vandals, Roxoloani are Sarmatians etc?

However there are no new units for the unlocked factions.

    Another review..

    Source?
Have they at least given a new portraits and names for the generals? Like Slavic and Romano-British sounding names.

Just look at the review videos I posted. They explain everything.

And I doubt there are any new portraits. Don't know about the names of Slavs or the British.

Then devs basically edited one file with notepad and dubbed it "new factions" for their promotional annoucements.
    Pity, nevermind though.

Yeah that was one of the minor complaints Ive seen people say, that the "new" factions arent really new but rather unlocked for use with intros added. I'm not annoyed about the lack of additional content, thats why we have mods after all.

Ok well here is my biggest gripe with the remaster already- they changed the main intro. The original one was classic and stood the test of time. Even now it hypes me up to play. But this one? Bland, forgettable. Ugh I hope that someone knocks some sense into Feral and they will change it. Or modders will.

It's still a 17 year old game no matter how much you remaster it - plus I don't think it does it any benefit if you keep showing the limitations of the game engine. (phalanx / spear battle)

Some modders got their hands on Remastered about 2 weeks ago. That's what I heard in Melkor' stream on youtube few minutes ago.

    Also..

Is it possible to switch to old graphics? My current laptop has 6GB RAM it is too weak for the remastered game.
I'm still eager to play on the classic graphics with new game balance until I buy new computer.

    No, it's not.

I mean one of the selling points for the Remaster is updated graphics.

    Not this one.

Another note.. checking the Remastered files right now and it is really easy to mod the game. Even I could do it. So hopefully that means we get a lot of mods really soon!

Initial reviews are mixed for the game... which I find rather odd. A lot of people experience crashing.

Works fine for me, so far at least. I think most of the complaints are about the UI which I get. It does take a bit to get used to but I think its fine, though the nostalgia in me wants some parts of the old UI back, like how the characters had their stats measured in stars, scrolls, and wreaths.

So far from what Ive played I really think that they need to work on pathfinding in cities, especially barbarian ones. Ive forgotten how lousy it is so I hope some improvement is made there in future updates.
