but on the other hand, i don’t really buy he genuinely believes that or really anything else he’s said today

Zack's poked at a lot of things but I never feel like he's trying hard to direct thread which implies he's comfortable with letting other people lead it which doesn't feel congruent with how town is dying right now.

Also just gut tells me he's a wolf. Which is pretty dumb.

Also I don't think Benneh is wolf with Monty and if Zack is town I'm townreading a wolf.

Not impossible but not what I'm thinking about now.

I definitely did put my neck out to try and get people off hally yesterday, but you are also just describing how I usually play as town?

My gut reaction to that eod and reveal was that I let hally off the hook. Those posts about being the reason for vulgards wagon were icky icky and for today i despise that opening sequence about weird kill/framing/means its neb

i dont really know how to convey this to the thread in a convincing way but i think its likely zack/barto/X

i largely agree with ender's post about the iawy vibe tell with zack. i'm not really compelled much by any of his posting today. i think the post after hally's AtE declaring he doesn't see anything wrong with sunbae's posts about hally feels kinda wolfy/happy to let it slide by without resolving any of the conflict from it.

i started getting spooky feelings aobut him yesterday when (and i say this hypocritcailly, because i know i declared myself not villagery) i started to end up in the middle of people's null to wolfy lists and zack had me in the same spot as monty e.g. null and if i remember right, this was even before monty had re-engaged the thread and was still on 2-posts

ive attached barto to zack because i don't really see a world zack lives in if not with him. there's imo a small world its zack/hally but that is far less after today's developments imo.

if zack died and flipped v right now i'd prob not live with that read and snap barrto but i do think barto's got plenty of wolf equity even if im wrong about zack

Neb, can you explain what made you think we were wrong near eod yesterday? I'm assuming it was some eod vibes but sometimes those are harder to pick up on reading them overnight compared to being there in real time.

game just felt static. dadv basically. i felt good about vulgard for a while but as we approached eod i realized there was no friction in the game which meant if he had a partner they'd given up on him long ago and that just didn't feel right?

ngl, part of it was also just me memeing to myself that i was creature and being doom and gloom, but it was also a genuine thought i had

re: benneh, i don’t know if i’d call it a wolf read really but i’ll walk through my thought process anyway

i think the rask kill makes sense for a team that wasn’t really threatened D1 and can afford to kill someone just to cast me in a negative light and continue the incorrect status quo. rask wasn’t really pushing anyone besides me so he wasn’t an active threat to any wolves D1 readswise. he also wasn’t that townread and didn’t have really any thread pull so i don’t think he was positioned as a likely NK. maybe i’m missing something but from my perspective as a villager the only motivation i can really see for N1ing rask is making me look bad.

but it’s not like i wouldn’t still be suspected if wolves make a more conventional SPK in zack/benneh/sunbae and left rask alive to keep tunneling me. wolves didn’t do that though, they killed outside a trio of strong players who had largely found each other D1. i think that probably doesn’t happen if all three of them are villagers, right? wouldn’t any combination of barto/mont/ender just kill whichever of zack/benneh/sunbae is most threatening to them to break up that trio?

so i think the rask kill points to that trio not being pure. but even if it’s not pure the wolf(s) in that group can still kill into, so i don’t know why they didn’t. maybe because the villagers in the trio were wrong D1 and the wolf(s) didn’t feel threatened by them? maybe because the wolf(s) didn’t want to kill into it because then they stick out when they don’t die? i don’t really know.

but basically, i thought there being a wolf in the normal SPKs could explain why wolves didn’t kill into that group and why they felt unthreatened enough to do a frame kill in rask. i think sunbae is implicated less because he had a fair amount of suspicion on him D1 and was also wrong on me/vulgard so it makes sense to leave him alive. and of zack/benneh, i think benneh is less villagery? his posts sound fine to me but on a macro level i feel like his D1 was very low impact and he didn’t really stick his neck out for any reads and just kinda let stuff happen which makes sense coming from a wolf in a thread where villagers (me/vul/sunbae) were the main ones getting heat largely driven by other villagers.

so that’s how the thought came to be. keep in mind this was really just a snap thought in response to the kill combined with some paranoia overnight that i gave benneh a pass too easily and i’m trying to put it into words / flesh it out to see if it makes sense. i’m not exactly sure it does because i do kinda believe benneh when he says he would just kill one of me/sunbae/zack, buuuut what if it’s benneh/zack and they think they can kill rask and then whisper sweet nothings in sunbae’s ear to get him to keep pushing me? idk honestly, i kinda think this idea was dumb and i should stop going down this rabbit hole but now i took the time to write it out so i’m just gonna post it and maybe someone will get something out of it. :tounge:

but i'm a villager and so basically how i get to my zack read is i take your process laid out in bold minus me and my alignment and end up thinking zack is a wolf for essentially the same reasons that you laid out for me not being the more villagery of the two

i had moderate reasons to v read rask/ender on their entrances. they were never going over so no reason to stick my head out.

no reasons to v read monty/barto, some mild reasons to think they were wolves but that was sewed in with a ton of doubt because a) i know monty is an often-mislunched villager just based off the sorc game and also talking with people who've played with him a long time and b) bartos posts are so bad it makes them LHF and being wrong on that just means the kill/suspicions gets directed toward villagers more often than not

i had reasons to suspect vulgard was wolf but it wasn't some lightbulb that popped off before anyone else. as mentioned above this left me with an uneasy feeling when i started to think otherwise closer to eod but it was genuinely too late to do anything about.

and zack/sunbae who i think i gave my reads on pretty openly through the course of the day.


so i'm not going to call that post incorrect, hally, i actually think you're spot on. but the expectation that i'd come in and take control of the thread with the reads i have above just isn't likely in a casual 9er with no PRs. i was never going to CFD in the five of z/s/h/r/e and i'd legit never forgive myself if i CFD'd a LHF slot like monty/barto, endedon a villager, and let vulgard get away. hence my 'im not sure how to fix this' post.

i think i just didn’t want him to be a villager who couldn’t find me this game but really, though i have some nugget of doubt, i do think he’s a villager and has posted the best in the sunbae/zack/benneh trifecta

before i went to sleep last night i was thinking possible worlds are:

1) zack/benneh (think it’s possible they think they aligned too hard D1 and want to get some separation today thinking we’ll default to lunching in mont/bart in the end)

2) 1 in zack/benneh and 1 in barto/monty (would involve some distancing/bussing to be going on but that’s not unlikely given barto/monty are the easiest lunches itg and their wolfbro probably couldn’t get away with not putting any separation between them)

3) bart/mont (was considering this because mont’s push on bart on page 1 went absolutely nowhere but iirc bart had a complete nonreaction to monty and if the idea is to put some separation between themselves early itg when it doesn’t really matter they probably do it from both sides imo?)

4) sunbae/ender (this is the “i’m wrong about everything lolme” world where the wolves have decided to hard town read each other and i think it’s probably the only world sunbae makes much sense in? anyway not on the table for me today)
