13er summer game thread

I just didn't have a lot of thoughts on anyone's postings besides Achro is obvious town, which he mostly continues to be.

Conflicted on katze, i soulread 60 as wolfy. It conflicts a read I have later though and I ain't sure what the person I think is REALLY sus was getting at with katze. If I have a lot of commentary in my posts what does that make katze? That's a question I want to pose. Like I think the one that really broke that mold for me was 94 and TBF I do sort of townread it just because I usually do that with the whole notion of townreading people for silly reasons thing, which I know in of itself is silly.

In terms of quick reads ladd and EnderWiggin both strike me as town as of right now.

Now this is 36.

Day 1s for me as town have always been about experimentation. I find mafia to be an interesting but repetitive exercise as town, and throwing a bit of ingenuity at a problem creates room for new solving opportunities.

I did admit after all I didn't know what I was going to do with only 50 posts to solve, but here's trying eh?

Plus it's best to assume as town everything I do has about 2-3 hidden motives and ideas behind it. I'm much more methodical than one might assume if they only read my bluster casually. At least, that's what I tell myself.

But here's a free one: The call to thunderdome was a reaction test, I was just seeing what you would do and your answer reminded me a little bit of end game wolf katze in poke mash. Having my respect as a wolf player is a real pain in the ass when you are town, I hear.

But fine, I will just let you be town for the day because statistically you are more likely to be, and if you're not an anime villain then I won't make you out to be one. It is a chill game after all, it's more important to be chill than have 200 IQ brain ideas on what scum will do day 1 tbh. You say I misread your tone, I'll blanketly believe you because why not.

i think i've forgotten how to play werewolf

i wanted to snapvote ladd for his first (?) post last night but i don't want to do that any more

katze is, as ever, too self-aware for their own good

achro calling rvs "drivel" made me guffaw a little in a good way

i feel like the thread is moving a particular way around achro but i haven't quite put a pin on it yet

but i do think there's something there

looking back, i think i wanted to snap ladd for his opening reads post being like cape/achro both v (which is an easy and yawny read to make there, not in that it's correct, but in that they're easy to push later on and idk just general playerlist positioning), but mostly also him being like "cuth seems fine so far" when i'd done absolutely nothing villagery lol

but then i remembered that i always want to kill ladd off the bat and decided to wait to see how visor/benneh reacted to his posts

katze is performative in a very similar way to how i am-- we're both really conscious of how we're presenting ourselves to other people in particular ways, and there were posts that i looked at and were like this is substantive somehow but not something that can be read off of that

wrt the thread moving around achro i meant that he was in the weird position in this sort of playerlist where it's easy for people to start w-reading him but like it felt like there was indirect stuff happening

like people interacting with or reading his slot rather than him, if that makes sense

what % satirical is this?

this was actually a serious question, because kinda similar to the ladd thing but kinda different katze was saying they were considering cape/achro w/w and that's also an easy and lazy take and i guess that sort of thing always bothers me because i would expect people to generally be more cautious about how they approach reading slots like those in games like these

my best case on cape is that they were shitposting with me and then they just didn't respond at all when i responded a little acerbically and a part of me ~strongly feels that that could be a nervous wolf thing to do lol because you're scared to answer weirdly and get my attention but it's rvs so you can get away with not engaging

but i don't love how people are treating the slot otherwise so i've been cooling on that recently

explaining the above but noting how people like ladd/kat treat cape (along with achro) in a weird way gave me a little ick and it felt to some extent like the way people would start out the game treating lhf-y slots

not that i thought they were doing that per se just the prevalence of that in the thread made me cautious in that respect

insomnia because he was also doing the soft cape defending thing he kept up kinda all phase

This is post 36, so I am going to cool it overall for the rest of monday and pick back up on things tomorrow, considering I am about 25% of the posts there's a lot of things for the less active people to chew on and discuss that I could hopefully read them on.

Anyway in general, as a matter of mafia philosophy, I think town loses most when they don't see each other very well which is why I like building town cores with focused scum hunting here and there. I find katze's response to me antithetical to that, and it could come from either alignment but it is for sure in her wolf range which is exceedingly large.

If Katze is town, with how good she is as scum, I want more assurance that she is being genuine and has real time thoughts about things that make sense and can be tracked. Her lack of commitment to this is problematic to me because while others were glad to answer my questions, she chose to not do so. It doesn't make her scum, but it does make them unhelpful to my process and I want to put a spotlight on it so others can examine the interactions and how we each approached the other to make up their own minds on our alignments.

I don' really need to reinforce a thunderdome, much less with 14 posts the next 24 hours, I got my answer from the answer katze gave me that they weren't going to be helpful to me at this point so I won't bother further. If others see me as a problem, well at least let me defend myself tomorrow, and if they don't see katze is a problem then I'd love pings to check out your scum case on someone. I actually think Cape is townleaning now based on something I remember from a few games we had played with each other, and I guess I won't try the reverse psychology trick of doubting myself because it sounds kind of lame to do that.

But I think he overplays his paranoia of me as scum, basically. I asked my questioned but then remembered in FAM3 over on FOL he actually thought I was quite villagery early on but in SMAS all stars on MU he was wary, something I liked about him. But I honestly can't read this man for shit so far so I don't know.
