Default Resource Editing - Pharaoh / Troy TW

With Troy and Pharaoh moving out from the usual gold / florins and food resource standard of Total War, and with now more than 6 different resources that you need to take care of (a la Age of Empires), I wanted to ask if anyone managed to do resource editing. In the new games, food seems to always be a problem, especially in the first 20-30 turns, and with the advent of the general climate crisis within the game, it makes it even more difficult in the beginning. Also, the resource generation of bronze for example seems to be a bit unclear to me, because there are no specific ways to generate bronze (like a mine), it's just "buildings" listed as bronze generators. It's all a bit confusing.

Did anyone manage to do resource editing, mod the game to add / lower the resources? Using EditSF (and maybe PackFileManager in the future), I could not identify the resouces at all, it seems they're hidden.

    Resource editing, modding, anyone?

Default Re: Resource Editing - Pharaoh / Troy TW

I finally managed to get it work - so if you're interested in resource editing in Pharaoh / Troy TW, you can do so by following the detailed outline below.

You will need some editing tools, most used is of course the RPFM (Rusted Pack File Manager) or you can also use the latest version of EditSF. I used EditSF because I already had the save games directly generated. Open up the EditSF, open your save game (Users / *Your Username* / AppData / Roaming / Creative Assembly) and then go to Faction Array. From Faction Array, go down to the db/pooled_resource and from resource 5 to 9 you have the corresponding resources from Pharaoh & Troy. You will need to be either in game (but outside of the saved game) or outside of the game, do not do this while the save game is loaded.

Specifically, you need to do it like this:

    1. Open up using EditSF.
    2. Find your savegame and open it.
    3. World -> Compressed Data -> Campaign Env -> Campaign Model -> World -> Faction Array -> Faction Array 0 (your savegame faction) -> Faction -> Pooled Resource Manager.
    4. From table 5 to table 9 you will find the resource name - > troy_wood / troy_stone / troy_gold...
    5. Edit the first line under the corresponding resource to add as much as you want.
    6. Save edit and then start again.

It worked, you should be able to modify as required. You can also modify other types of resources, but this is strictly for editing existing savegame resources.

EditSF latest version or the Rusted Pack File Manager tool.
