Hi, this is Dr Gary. Welcome to the Daily Tune-up today. Let's talk about your moods today. Have you ever noticed sometimes you get up in the morning and you're just not in that good of a mood today? In fact, you'd like to have people stay completely away from you today? And as the day goes along and sometimes improves, and sometimes doesn't, and it's kind of unpredictable about what's really going on and you really can't figure out what's going on, it just seems like some days are like that? Well, a lot of that is life, it's the rhythm of life, however this is something you can do about it, and there's really two really important things you can do in the morning to start changing that today. If you find sometimes you do wake up, you're a little bit grumpy or a little bit grumbly, and you just want to roll back over and go to bed, because you can't think of one nice thing about the day today, there's a real reason that could be happening today. Many people discount the fact that during the night, a lot of times when I get up the next morning, whatever we ate the night before is gonna, could, it's gonna have a lot to do with our brain chemistry. Also, people a lot of times do not drink water during the night. Sometimes, they just go to sleep, and they stay asleep, and they never get up. When your brain becomes dehydrated, what happens is the frontal lobe, the frontal cortex, which is our ability to discern our moods, our ability to think our way out of things, seems to just kind of shut down, and we get into this fight or flight response because we're dehydrated, the brain's defending itself. One of the best things you can do when you get up in the morning is to think of one thing that's a blessing in your life. So let's work on that. It's a great time of year.
