Mongol portraits

Whenever I play MTW, when the Mongols invade they have the standard European looking portraits, but Mongol names. Only the Khan has a Mongol portrait. Whats up with that?

I think it's because whenever they invade, all Rebel factions that were once there, join under the Khan's rule.

I think it has to be a mistake as even the generals leading the specific mongol units ie. MHC & HA still have portraits of europeans. These generals had to have started with original mongol invasion.

When new troops are raised, it also depends on the religion in that specific province. Only pagan provinces get mongol pics.. The invading force, however, had always Mongol pics in all my campaigns.

That might explain it, so far everytime I've played either the Russians, Byz or Poles had conquered and held territories for long periods of time out there before the Mongols smashed them. Holding those provinces for so long as well as occaisionally sending preists out there probably changed the Pagan provinces into largely Christian ones.

I'll have to check that out next time.
