I find every time I get to the "Ok, it's obvious I'm going to win" stage, I want to restart. I've never seen any Janissary unit, nor Gothic. I just barely got to gunpowder. I'm definitely in the "first hundred years" camp.
Makes two of us. I just started a late game for the Spanish recently so I'd finally get a chance to use the late units
