    1*
What the max command a general can get in the game? Is it capped?

for example: u 'can' bring a general to 9 star.
+ U give him constantinople title +2 and marchal. +2
    This gives up to 13.
+ he then also can have other virtues like skilled risky attacker or expert attacker +2.
    this comes to 15.
+ a famous leader, utterly fearless (maybe others)
this would get him to 16 or 17.
    + chivalrous or gentle knight

this could get u a general to approx 18 command stars

visually this would not be seen on the info parchment, but i'll bet it can be seen when u press F1.
Is there a maximum a general can get?

2* what's the maximun valour a unit can achieve? i heard someone had a 16valour unit? is it also capped?

3* Has dread ANY effect on the battlefield?

    thnx for any answers,

    S.

Well, at least some of it isn't seen when you press F1. I had a 9-star general, who was an expert defender (+3), and expert risky defender (+1 when outnumbered 2:1). His army of 1500 troops got attacked by 6000. When I hit F1, it still only listed his command rank as 9. Plus, his units only got a valour bonus of 4. So it would appear the game didn't let it go over 9.

I believe, the command is capped at 9 stars. I have had a 9 star general with +3 to defense and the battlefield stats (F1) display valor gains as from 9 stars, not 12.

I have a rather "dread"-ful general, and I the enemy always retreats when he attacks. He also has an excellent command rating, but he does not lead an overwhelming large army (it'd be superfluous, since everyone just retreats). I have read other posts in which enemy armies tend to flee at the approach of generals with high "dread" ratings. While I hope this is true, I can't help but think it's just a fantasy.

While command is capped at 9, I've heard of valour going as high as 14, although I've never seen this myself.

I had a prince achieve a valour of 11, with very high dread.

His entire bodyguard was long dead, and by himself left swaths of dead wherever he went.

He personally avoided several routes by turning the tide.

Met a sad death on the wrong end of an archers volley. 3 or 4 companies of them I think. I nearly cried when he fell from his horse....

So it seems dread does have effect on the battlefield...
(I always thought it was not --> maybe a programmer can jump in and explain. Nothing in the strat guide)

So command is capped at 9stars? visually and on the field.
atm i have a 9 star general, i'll give him constantinolpe titile, he should become 11. I'll check this evening in a battle. (also the accoring morale of other troops 9 verus 11, if there is any difference)

I have a unit (old prince) who has valour 12atm. (he is also a famous warrior and gained famous brave, which gives
him +20 health and +4 valour.) I believe I read here on the forums one had a valour unit of 16.
Would lik to know the max on valour too.

I've had royal knights up to 14 valor before. I get my best results when I dismount them (thus giving chivalric foot knights) and put them in a woods in a battle where I know I'm going to get attacked by lots of horse and spear (i.e.- a condition where I will be able to get lots of kills with minimal losses in return).

I know being on horseback gives them a much better charge bonus, but I find that my men on horseback are very vulnerable to charging into circumstances where they get overwhelmed. Put them on foot in a battle line in woods and they get protection from incoming missile fire along with a slow speed that prevents them from running out too far in front and getting swarmed.
