is there anywhere where i can find out whether i'm excommunicated or of course been recommunicated apart from the message that pops up.

O you who turn the wheel and look to windward,
Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.
Yep, just go to the diplomatic screen and hold your cursor over your faction shield and it will say something like your faction is currently excommed if indeed you are excommunicated. You can do the same for any other faction on that screen aswell, handy for picking which faction to after next.
You can also tell at a glance on the Diplomatic parchment, as the Catholic Cross that indicates your religion will be broken into two pieces if you are excommunicated. When your excommunication ends, the cross will be back to normal.
Same deal with all Catholic factions on the Diplomatic parchment.
Cheers.

All your generals and your king will also show broken crosses if you're excommunicated. Same for enemy generals if their faction is excommunicated.
Yours was not at first a criminal nature. At 10 you stole sugar,at 15 you stole money,at 25 you committed arson. At 30,hardened in crime, you became an editor. Worse yet is in store for you. You will be sent to Congress, then to the penitentiary. But,all will be well. You will be hanged.
