I've heard really good things about Wes's mod but I don't know much about computers (other than playing games) and I'm not quite sure how to install it (I've already downloaded it). I know this is probably a very dumb question but could anyone out there give me some help?

I had the exact same problem. First you have to have winzip. If not you can download the trial version. In the bottom left corner there is a selection that says evaluation version click it. It should bring up the west folder and then keep clicking next until it asks you where to save the file, save it under the total war section in the program files area. Do not save it in medieval total war. Then hit next and it should unzip it. Then look under the medieval section in the documents and there should be a two new sections. One is charts and graphs. Also your readme file on it tells you a few things too.

The medmod basically just replaces several text and image files in your Medieval - Total War directory with updated versions. He doesn't provide an installer to do this, rather he just provides all the files as they would be located in your installed medieval directory.

So to install the mod you just need to replace your current medieval files with the ones in his zipped file. You can use WinZip to unzip directly to the medieval - total war directory into your game folder or, what seemed easier to me, just open the zip file with winzip and click and drag all the files into your medieval directory. You will get a warning asking if you want to replace files, say yes.

Wes includes a directory titled 'Original' to uninstall the mod. Just copy the files in this Original folder to your main directory and it will restore the game to the pre-modified version.

    good luck
