Theres nothing about this in the patch info but it has happend to me aswell, the english had 2 barques in the atlantic..
My biggest complaint about this would be that if I want to go to war with someone who doesn't have Carracks and I do, I should be able to keep trading lanes open using the deep sea lanes, but the shore hugging barque has managed to find it's way to sea to take that option away.

I`ll confirm this. Yesterday the English pig dogs attacked my Egyptian baggala in the Atlantic, and they can`t build anything deep-sea-capable yet...I wasn`t even out of the Early era in my GA game.
If you're fighting fair you've made a miscalculation.
