Thread: Feudal / Chivalric Foot Knights

    Question

As my first post here since Shogun, I will begin with a question that has bothered me. I simply cannot find the capacity to train Feudal and Chivalric Foot Knights I had an incredible fight when I was resisting one of the Pope's re-emergences. (I killed the earlier guy: I didn't like him 'cause he was ugly.) Anyway, after wading through his 1,000 man army, which included 700 mounted nobility (Yikes&#33 and some Foot Knights. They did incredible damage to my Chiv. Men-At-Arms. I won the fight, but my army was trashed. Now I have set out to find out where to get these foot knights. The manual AND guide say to dismount my cavalry, but it does not say how

    Thanks in advance...

There may be a better way (and the fellas here will correct me if I'm wrong): if you haven't taken out the French yet, conquer IleDeFrance soonest. The AI usually builds them up there fast, getting to the Royal Knights, Footies, Chiv's & Feudies quite early.

I've also (playing HRE) seen them in Poland quite early (tho not as early as IdF).

    Your mileage may vary.

I've had the same problem with the Foot Knights (Feudal, Chivalric, and Gothic), the manual says all you need are the same buildings you need to make the regular version of the Knights. Do you dismount your regular ones or do you actually train foot versions?

Welcome MacGregor. I gotta say I like that name.

I think you are correct about the foot knights - you have to dismount them before the battle begins.

If you haven't found it already...you can dismount knights before a battle begins => right click on the unit, should get a box with info and options => click mount/dismount.

    Enjoy

Okay so I basically wasted my time and money building up any province where Foot Knights are suppossed to get +1 to valour since you can't actually raise them. I guess it's alright though since they are still good units, but the bonus would be nice.

Yes I couldn't see the reason for that one either, as the HRE I built up Saxony to get the +1 valour on Gothic Knights and did the same in the region with +1 valour for Gothic foot knights (can't rember its name). Couldn't see how they were trained so in the end assumed that they must get the bonus when I dismounted the knights, only I could never remember which ones were trained in which region, so I could have been dismounting the Saxony knights for no advantage

Does anyone know if this is the case, that you get the +1 bonus for Gothic foot knights when you dismount your Gothic knights that you trained in the correct region?

Dum dee dum... Thank you I have what I needed

Anyway: as HRE, yes it is often easier to take out Il de France: but it is easier, so I didn't do it. After taking the Italian Peninsula, I trashed the Hungarians. More of a challenge (hehe.)

A am also playing a campaign as the English (gotta love longbowmen). I am now at war with the Almohads: I took Valencia from them are they are quite mad, especially since I killed their king. I don't really know what the big deal is, I mean, jeez It was only about 3,000 guys I killed that siege. Nothing to get mad about or anthing...

Playing as Egypt, I saw there is a place where the foot kights has +1 bonus. I didn't pay attention to which place or how to get them because Egyptians never have use for these foot kights

Conquer Rhodes (I think that's where I saw the inscription).
