Has anyone noticed that if the battle goes against you then just move the general or fast troops to the furthest point away from the enemy, preferably in a wood and just wait out the clock.

Semms too easy the AI is not agressive enough.

Either that or you can chose not to take advantage the AI like that - don't hide in the woods.

Only time this happens to me was when I had a rebellion in Prussia and had about 500 men faced by like 5000 Pesants and fanatics. I waited as far back as I could in a strong defensive position and everytime the enemy got too close they lost their nerve and ran away. All I had to do was sit there and charge the retreating Peasants with my Cavalry
My general got Expert defender and skilled last stand from that battle.#

Seriously though don't bother hiding in the woods, thats not a battle, and what else are you there for?

    Thank you

Yes using programming weaknesses is not playing the game.

    Best wishes

Besides, I have tried that during one hopeless battle and it did not work. The AI came after my lonely unit of Royal Knight, but these tough guys managed to chase away three units of sergeants anyway…

I hate the time limit because it is so dammed gamey , thus I turn it off , but I had it on for some reason when crushing the Spainiards as the Alamohads not long ago and caught the AI trying the same stunt you mention with a single Royal Knight {I had pretty much destroyed all their army that mattered} and had to send my surviving Alans to go fetch him :/
Made him admit he was a girley before I smuffed him

I'm not going to change for the other three .
