I just purchased this game and love it. I was trying out some of the mods the historic battles and they would not show up on the list. Could someone provide me with help on how to run these games with the full version. Thanks.

Well havent loaded any of the mods myself, but be sure to have the latest patch v1.1. And make sure your looking in the right time period as some mods are time specific i believe.

Usually the MOD's come with a readme file. Any instructions should be in there. Some MOD's have auto-install features, some have to be installed and unistalled manually by copying each file to the right directory. It will all depend on the one who made the MOD.

    Hope that helps.

Leonidas (Agiad King, 491-480, Killed at Battle of Thermopylae)

When Xerxes wrote again: 'Deliver up your arms,' he wrote back: 'Come and take them.'

He passed the word to his soldiers to eat breakfast in the expectation that they would be having dinner in Hades.

Well, check out the Dungeon forum. There are a few good MOD threads there and people with ideas/suggestions are always welcome. Some MOD's are in beta stage but also finished ones. You can also monitor the development of new MOD's like several ones for Lord of the Rings. No LOTR mod's are available for SP yet but me and others are working on it.

The only MOD I really played was Palladin's MOD which is more historical accurate and a little harder to play. But I guess it will just depend on what you are looking for so just take a look yourself. Don't expect any mod's with new campaign map graphics though. There are several projects but none are ready yet because it costs weeks of manpower to make a SP campaign with a new map.

    Question

Are these projects going to have a new SP map, along with units etc, or is it a new map with same mechanics/units only different names and stats?

Some are busy with new SP campaignmap (including new units, new map, etc), some just with battle maps and units, some only new battle maps, some with just revised SP faction positions plus tweaked AI behaviour and some just bring a tougher challenge.

If you're talking about the LOTR mod, well the one I'm working on with others has a total new middle earth map, new units, new factions, new castles, etc. In other words, a total conversion.

Greetings and a hearty welcome denny2

I'd suggest you look over some of the threads announcing the new mods or mod-based. You'll find some comments, problems and questions regarding the various mods. Or scan the mods in the download section and try one that strikes your fancy. Many have put a lot of time into them and would like feedback on their work. Wouldn't you?
