    Hey..this is a stupid question.

But, I left my copy of the manual to MTW somewhere (no idea where) and so that can't answer my question.

My question is: How do boats work? Can you load troops onto them? I can't figure it out.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks,

Think of the ocean 'squares' as provinces with 0 movement costs. Your ships provide a presence in that sea 'province' that allows you to move your troops through with no movement cost. To move troops from one place to another you must first have a port in their origin province and an unbroken path from the origin to the destination.

When you pick up your army, all the valid destination provinces will be highlighted, just like when you pick up an army in a landlocked province.

Be aware that when you drop your army in an enemy province you won't be able to move them back without a port.

Lost your manual, eh? Before you read about ships ... OK.

Greetings TehRat. Lots of people have lost their manuals this month.

One thing to add: the ships have to be in an unbroken chain of sea provinces from the origin port to the destination. Only one enemy ship present in a sea province is enough to break the chain.

One other thing, a bit off topic, set those boats up in a chain connecting your ports to allied or neutral ports for extremely profitable trading. The more tradable goods (and established merchants guilds) a province has, the better.
