There seems to be problems with the download system at TeleFragged. Barocca is on it.

    Here's how it should work:

I just downloaded the file, are you using a pop up stopper Arn?

    Don't smile yet Arn

If this is the 1st time you've used BifReader - then expect a little grief at times

    Arn,

    I've E-mailed you a very simple script (25k) based on the Early.txt.

Unzip it and copy it into your MTW campaign/startpos folder. It will show up as All Factions Title.

Note: its VERY BASIC. It's not well balanced. By that I mean the new factions that are now playable are very limited resources (when the AI plays with these 'minor' factions it helps them out a little to make sure they don't die too early&#33.

The Swiss, Burgundians and Aragonese are a real challenge in this script.

This allows 19 factions. Although there are 20 factions available the Novgorod and Russia factions are mutually exclusive as they appear at different date (this is not really true but it's difficult to explain all the 'rules&#39

Use it as a basis for whatever you want to do - by comparing it with the Early.txt script you should be able to see the very few changes made for this.

    Janos,

As you have specifically requested I can hardly refuse

For any one else who requires this please ask Janos or Ard to forward the appropiate file. As I can't spend too much time sending people things - consider it to be a chain-letter type approach

Janos, I've E_mailed you BifReader and the Script file. May I request either youself or Ard forward these for anyone else who requests them in this thread

    regards,

    Welly

    Thx again welly...

I took my first shoot at modding yesterday, and by now i can add known factions, and replace old with new ones...

But i havent managed to create a totaly new one, like Scotland for example... (But by tomorrow im sure i know how..=) hehe

That champagne you sent me was very good..(= did some tweeks to make the swizz a lill better though..

Do you know of any similar mods which only adds new factions (Like Scotland, Africa and such....), and which doesnt change the rest of the game to much?

    Ard,

Can I suggest you have a good read of this thread -

    http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin....and+mod

Ok, it's a bit 'old' now but the info contained in this thread has'nt changed much - it's still good info. It's related to an early conversation regarding adding a Scot's faction (and all of the implicit considerations).

I appreciate some of the info in this thread may be a bit confusing to new modders such as yourself - BUT - we all have to start somewhere and we all have experienced confusion/difficulties/frustration in modding MTW.

Then again, within 'The Orgs' modding community (The Dungeon) new faces come and old faces go. Such is life. Therefore it's nice to see new faces interested in modding MTW.

New faces = new enthusiasm = new ideas

May I suggest you post some of your modding queries in the Dungeon - you WILL get a lot more help/advice there.

As for similar mods, well I tried a couple some time ago but can't really remember what they all did. I do seem to recall that the 1092 campaign was VERY good (many other people also said so).

At present I'm busy spending 90% of my time on LMM (LukMapMaker) which offers totally new campaigns - not just different scripts using the standard MTW campaign map but totally different maps/scripts etc: There's a stickied thread in The Dungeon regarding this project - and I've just released LMM4v1 which offers the user the ability to easily make new campaigns.

Anyway, enough of my shameless plugging of LMM

Any problems raise a new thread in The Dungeon.

    Welly
