Thread: Modding Generals

As title. Is there any way to mod the generals/kings or even spy/emissaries' stats and traits such that I can have a specific character either at the beginning of the campaign or during it?

You can change vices/virtues by doing certain deeds such as ransoming off prisoners rather then killing them. With traits such as command and loyalty (i think) you can only change them by giving them deeds to provinces. I would also like to know if there is any other way of changing traits.

Well, what I really meant is to actually modify a general's stats and maybe even names outside of gameplay, such that I can create a mod with certain characters in a campaign.

So what your saying is that you want to create a mod with your own custom generals (names, vices, virtues, traits etc)?

Yes. Not necessarily all of those stuff, but as much as possible.

I have a reply for you courtesy of Sword Of Storms (Thanks SOS)

Changing names is simple they ae located in the medieval/loc/eng/names file you change the name inside the curly{} brackets only in two places the @ and the actual double name listing do not change anything in the [] brackets that is hardcoded, about stats the only thing I know of to help here is to mod the titles you give generals you can make them virtually anything you want if you are trying to create a super general just mod the titles loyalty, accumen ,command numbers listed under the titles in the early .txt. file hope that helps.

    Yep, saw that one. Thanks.

Well, I guess there will be no Robin Hood.

Could you also ask whether there is a way to convert/import/mod the STW units to be used in MTW?

Check out the STW mod thread in the dungeon forum. Its a sticky. It should answer all your questions.

    Hope it helps

No problem Gregoshi, just a question to you though, uly cant get into the Dungeon forum because he is still a junior patron, is there some way to link him to a thread in the Dungeon forum so he can read it?

PoLsKa, the easiest way is to get 2 browser windows open. One should be at the reply text box for this thread (for example) and the other browser window has the thread you want to link to. Highlight and copy (cntrl-C) the thread's URL in the Address window of your browser. Switch over to the browser window with the reply text box for this thread and click on the http:// button above the text box. You will be prompted for a URL. Paste the URL you copied from the other browser into the prompt box (cntrl-V) and click on the OK button. It will then ask you for a text description for the URL. This will be the actual (underlined) text that will display for the link. Click the OK button again and the iB code will appear in the text box. It sounds more complicated that it is.
