Then stop defending your 'circle' and strike out.

1 or 2 units sent behind the Papist or Milanese factions will serve to draw off a lot of their units (if done correctly).

You can then mop up either of these 2 factions with most of your reminaing units (save another 1 or 2 to harrass the one faction whilst your concentrating on the other).

Once 1 faction has been effectively neutralised it should be straightforward to concentrate on the other one.

After that you only have to deal with the enemy units that had been drawn away initially.

(many variations on this theme - just don't give up too soon - try different things)

My advice would be to get their general as soon as possible, put all ur energy on that and when he is dead, hammer the troops with catapults.

    Arn,

Don't give me grief - please I have enough things to think about at present

If I was to show you how it was done I'd need a pre-paid return flight ticket to Scandanavia and a pre-paid tab at your loacal bar (alcahol is just TOO expensive in your country).

Anyway, I seem to remember I had a lot of similar problems with this battle (I was originally doing the same as you - collecting all my forces together and trying to weather the onslaught - never worked). aAFter I finally won it I never played it again so I can't remember exactly what I did right or wrong.

Still, a bit of lateral thinking should'nt go amiss here. If you still can't win, then just mod your ADF file and give yourself a LOT more good units. ALternately, mod the oppositions ADF's and give them 1 unit of peasents each

This is'nt really cheating - it's just showing MTW who's the REAL boss
