Personally, I think that it's still playable. It's just 1335, but will take a lot of time for micromanaging...

Dramicus has a point here, folks...

He doesn't deserve his own thread. Let's delete it

    -Hey, I made Junior Member-

EDIT: Okay, now for the part of the post that has a point to it. From my perspective I wasn't so much annoyed by the fact that Dramicus had the empire crumble, but rather the way he did it and the fact that it had no justification in the ongoing story of sorts that we're writing here. I would have much rather seen a long, drawn-out crumble lasting over a period of 20 years or so and just showing overall decline, the loss of numerous territories over time and such, instead of what he actually did- moving nearly all of his armies to the British Isles, creating a rather unrealistic situation of huge upkeep and a mass revolt all at once, along with the potential to retake many of those rebellious provinces due to the still-superior English navy.

Anyway, just my point of view. Doesn't count for much.

Hi fellas. I sent the previous King of England thread to the Recycle Bin; I figured we could use this (smaller) thread for administrative purposes on our King of England campaign...that is: if anyone is still interested.

I sent the 1299 save to Shand994, but have heard nothing.

This is the most recent list of prospective Kings:

    Shand994 Current Ruler
    Robin of Locksley ftrain98@earthlink.net
    Tigger daveymiller01@yahoo.co.uk
    Big King Sanctaphrax robw123uk@yahoo.co.uk
    Sainika
    Striker

BTW, just for fun, I played out Dramicus' 1335 savegame for 20 years. Let's just say: although England has a negative treasury, yearly income is high & England rules all but a dozen provinces.

So...is this campaign still alive? I have savegames from 1253 (Edward II, my start), 1299 (Richard II's start), and 1335 (Henry II's start).
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.

SIGH* Dramicus, it isn't a matter of being made sick or sad by your pictures being here. What is at issue is getting this idea back on track. As long as your pictures are here, people will want to comment on them. Regardless of whether those people approve or disapprove of what you did, they eat up space here and contribute to the mess that exists on this thread. I set up a seperate thread where people can express their opinions. I did this in the interests of fairness and because I recognize that everyone's opinion needs an outlet. ( the thread is called the disastrous reign of Richard II in case anyone is curious) We've spent...what...3 pages? dealing with this. When I said that the momentum died, this is what I was alluding to(a literal fact and NOT a statement of disgust).

I am not really angry at you but I would like to move this thread beyond you. To that end, I ask that anyone who has an opinion on Dramicus' reign leave it in the appropriate thread. I further ask the moderators to move posts that deal with Dramicus in the afore-mentioned appropriate thread.

Have anything else to say? albertmaldonado@yahoo.com

P.S: No offense to Chilling or HopalongBunny. You guys simply served as examples of my point and I hardly fault you for that. Espescially no offense to Dramicus.

Y'all see that previous post? That is what I was posting when Kukri trashed King of England. Does the campaign continue? Most likely it does. The thrust of that last post was to show that I meant to keep THIS thread seperate from King of England. In fact, I CREATED this thread to keep it seperate from King of England.

Kukri: I generally agree with your trashing the thread. It had become unwieldy and I must say that there is something liberating about its destruction. What I would ask though is if it is irretrievable. There were at least a few posts that were not copied that are worth noting. In fact, if it isn't too late, maybe the thread could remain but with mass deletions. You wouldn't even necessarily have to increase your workload to do it. Most of the posters in that thread are Junior Members capable of deleting their own posts. At the very least, I was hoping to conduct the game from a base of operations that isn't Disastrous reign of Richard II Further, some people might not be reading this thread and will have no clue what happened to King of England. In the absence of a thread by that specific name, some people will believe that the idea is simply dead. The more aggravating side effect of this is that I'll have to track down all the future kings via e-mail and tell them what is going on.

Nutshell: Can you put King of England back up at least long enough to tie up the loose ends its destruction causes.

Edit to say I am still editing my post. I dropped it incomplete in hopes of at least attracting Kukri's attention?

I can restore it (the original KoE thread); but will do so for only 24 hours, so you can construct a new, truncated version. Maybe name it KoE II. Didn't mean to step on your toes Demon of Light; thought KoE I had run it's 200+ post course.

I still have the zip from Simon and a zip from the end of my reign. If needed they are available.

I honestly regret the lack of a story. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a written account provides humour, drama, continuity and is a good deal less dry.

no toes stepped on and since I hadn't stated so before, there wasn't any way for you to know that I was keeping everything seperate.

HopAlongBunny: Dramicus volunteered to do a write up earlier. With the reactions he got after he did his thing, he may feel that a write up is unnecessary. Don't know but I'm sure he'll pop in and tell you what is up.

Kukri: Mind if I use that number I have? I'm thinking that might be easier at this point.

Yup I did, and I probably wont concidering that my teachers have had some classified meeting and have decided to issue several projects which are all due on dates which are dangerously close to eachother...

If there is enough demand I guess I will put someting up about it being a dream, (Ive done enough during my reign to make it interesting) but if people want to forget and (perhaps) forgive then I will leave it alone...

Dramicus, I had no problem with your reign; I've played several campaigns that got to the mass-rebellion point, as your's did (tho' I didn't INTEND to do it )

If you're pressed for time, feel free to e-mail me a brief account of the events of your reign in plain language. I'll be glad to fill in the details & write up an account for you. The goal is to continue the King of England 'story'.
