Well here is a story based on a MP battle i fought. The game was Early, Desert (rock), 15k each, Hillyinland01

If you would like to see the replay, email me... it was one of the best battles ive ever fought... just for the joy of it and the epic size of it

The desert win caught the fine topsoil, and blew it up the hill. Generals Alrowan, Ryttare and Black all sat and waited for the clouds to ease. The might of Egypt had marched in retreat for several days, a combined force of Almohads, Turks and Byzantines, most un-holy of allies, marching quick on thier heels. Then it came to this, Ryttare's armies from the south, and Alrowan's and Black's from the north converged in Siani. There is where the Almohads, led by Sharif met the Turkish Ellessar and Byzanine Alaric, and forged thier wretched pact.
And so this is where egypt stood.. holding thier ground at last in the hills of Siani. Alrowan Formed up in the middle, guarding the roadway that passed through the vale on his left flank, down where Ryttares men had formed after thier long march. Black had led an army of the finest spears to the mount, and waited upon his allies to join him. As the dust cleared the enemy had marched upon Egypt, with the Byzantines taking the far hills from the road, while the Almohads and Turks prepared to assualt the hill. As the horns sounded, Ryttare was already urging his men with all speed to gain the platau beneath the hill, and support Alrowan. The Shrewed Sharif of Almohad saw the move, and led his men quickly to the road, and joined the byzantine forces there. Menwhile the truks having advanced below the hill let loose with thier vicouse bows, slaying all within range. Alrowan torn between defending the hill above the road with Ryttare and taking the turks was torn between places to be, but having seen the distance to the turks he made quick work with some saharan cavalry, and attempted to break the archers, but to no avail, and soon the cavalry were in full flight. Quickly the Turks capitalised on this and sent forth thier attack. Driving a deep wedge in the middle of Alrowan's armies it looked as if the Egyptians might be split, but some quick work and soon the flanks closed in and hold the turks fast, slaying the saracen traitors where they stood. Black seeing the skirmish won sent some of his finest Khazawarrim to lay to rest any survivors. But the General Ellessar managed to get to safety, and sat back as his armies fled.
Things however were not looing good near the vale with the road. Ryttares march had stumbled and now the combined mass of Almohad and Byzantine were stroming up the hill. Alrowans men, threisty for some more blood, turned and
attempted to face this newer and greater threat. Along the edge of the hill a great battle was fought, but the winners had already been decided of this battle. Even though it was a migty stand that the Egyptians took, they were to be
overwhelemed, and brave Alrowan chraged into the fray, hoping to take as many heads as he could. The battle went well to start, but when the combined might of heavy cavalry cam upon egypt, the egyptians fell back.. numbers failing and men tiring. But Alrowan led a charge of his finest Ghulams into the fray to attempt to cover the retreat to the hill... where Black had his fresh troops wating to face the enemy. The retread went well, and about 1/4 of alrowans and ryttares remaining armies made it to the hill, foruntatly a lot of archers. But in the retreat, Alrowan fell, pulled off his horse by 100 orthodox men. A sad day indeed for the Egyptians. But the battle was not over.
Taking up the hill, Egypt set up their forces, prepared to face whatever the enemy sent at them. with one freshg army, and 2 fragmented remains. Alrowans division had some camels ready to die for their now fallen lord, and swore to do him justice, and slay a wretched general. The marched forth with pride to where the Turkish general lay hiding, and ran him down, and faced his unit. slaying many of that mans bodgurd, they still couldnt get to Ellessar, and his faster horsesran forth to cower behind thier allies lines. But the camels did not give up, and died while trying again to kill the wretch.
Then the enemy began to move. Dust began to boil as the Byzantines marched forward and the Almohads arround the left of the hill. The archers fired and soon nubian spears and saracens were engaging the almohads who had become split from thier allies. Soon though, many of the spears led by black were fleeing do to flanking, and although killing much, the almohdas held fast most of thier men. Then Black seeing the split led a charge down the hill into the tiring byzantines. The battle looked even till a lonly unit of naptha began thier devestating fire, and soon the greeks were running from thier own devices. Black and the rest of the armies began to give chase, knowing full well that a rallied byzantine would mean that the egyptians would be caught in between two armies, so give chase they did, and routed the pride of the greeks.
There after the rout Black led what few remaind up to a hill, and awatied the final show of strength... but it was not to be. After marching in the desert heat, the byzantines were to tired to give battle, and ran when the order to attack came, the almohads now seeing the folly of the fight then withdrew, leaving Egypt victorious, but at a great cost.
