Just learned that Barnes and Nobel has managed to get more of the Prima Stratergy Guides in for Shogun: Total War. The Stratergy Guide has been out of stock and for a while, and you couldn't order it from any of the places Prima says you can get it from, due to the out of stock issue. They are currently sitting in a warehouse and will be going out in the next few days, from what I was able to learn. So hopefully other stores will be gettting the guide in the future since Barnes and Nobel did.

My take on the Prima Strategy Guide is that in some regards it's pretty useless, but it is probably worth the $20 (or whatever they are asking for it).

It does include a very nice 2 page write-up on each provence + there is also an interesting chart which demonstrates the statistical advantages/disadvantages of attacking in various situations (you can find sililar tables for free at Terazawa's Resourse Center).

The long and short of it is that it has almost nothing of value to help players learn multiplayer tips and tricks, but it certainly has merit if you want to do well in the single-player battles and campaigns.

I bought the original guide the day before the release of the original game.

EB could sell me the guide'but not the game!!

Is there an updated WE/MI issue coming out?

I'd like them to release a decent manual instead. Just this once.

Yeah a better instruction guide is what they need. I still have troble believeing they delayed release of WE/MI cause of the the instruction book not meeting there quality control, considering all the mistakes that are in it.

I have the original strategy guide. I procurred it from a friend for a knockdown price of £2.50, not a bad deal I thought. It is O.K and provides a good grounding in the rudiments of battlefield tactics, but to be honest, it doesn't tell you much that you couldn't work out yourself.
