This is a comment not a complaint

Right we all know that the Kensai is a bit of a joke He is a 8ft tall NBA player on the battle field that makes schwarzenegger in commando look like a blouse wearin poddle walker.
I don't think the kensai is all that (i've only had the game for 3 days). So far i've lost kensai to 1 monk unit H1, 1 battlefield ninja H2, 1 Yari cav H1, 3 units of SA different honor & a damiyo H6. I have killed a kensai with 3 rounds from 240 gun salute
So in my opinion the kensai ain't that great or that powerful. The biggest drawback of the kensai is that it takes 4, yes 4 turns to produce them(which is ridiculus)and this means that u cannot train any troops in that province for 4 turns
Suggestion for patch if there ever is a patch
Either reduce the time it takes to train the kensai & raise the cost or train in 4 turns but comes out as rank 2 general.
    BattlefieldNinja(turtles)
well what can I say they look brilliant & I can c the uses for them. Its a pity the AI can't use them properly that would make them a real threat. So far all I have cn them do is die, even when I use them
They r very prone to guns & archers when u can actually get your unitz to fire at them and they are very easy to beat with cavalry.
But generally they are like the kensai they take too long to train in SP which really turns me off them & they tie up that province for a year. I have also noticed that when u hold alt & attack they do not attack properly, they seem 2 stand in the middle of the enemy unit & do nothing. I have found that u have to keep giving them orders so that they will stay fighting.
All in all the training time for these two units has to be changed as at the moment they are a waste of time & resources.

To CA/DT you have made the single player campaign a lot more enjoyable and replayable.
especailly if you are Imagawa and you wait for Oda to become allied with Takeda, Hojo & Uesgi. Then attack Oda you will be in for constant coordinated attacks from all 4.
I have also found that shinobi seem to keep the loyalty up much better which makes them worthwile.

Nope Kensai are not he new WM (Remember we all complained because they we're too strong) of MI, and that's good.

But they are a strong foe, if you bring them out of a battle when they are very tired, (they die when exausted) you can keep them alive a long time and pump up there honor. Because of their incredible charge bonus, i sometimes send them rushing into an ennemy unit already tied up with another of my unit, pull the kensai back a bit, then charge in again, and repeat.

They are great when used in combination with other units (with nags to take a bridge or another hard to attack defensive positions, with ND to punch trough an ennemy line).

They have to be taller, if we want to distinguish them in a heated battle from all the other small sprites.

The battlefield ninjas have to be used for specific missions, like an elite marine platoon. I use them to try to sneak in the back of the AI armies taisho (especially when the AI attacks-he hangs in the bak a lot) or an important unit in a difficult defensive position to wipe them out. I do not use them with the bulk of my army. Use their speed (fastest foot soldier-nearly as fast as the Jap HC) and stealth for sneak attacks.

I agree with the 4-turn training being nonsense, for them to merit that they would have to be the 'super-units' that no-one wanted them to be...just seems a mad mistake to make when you look at how they act in tactical battles
    Have you seen the fnords?

Kensai...a sword saint, a higly trained, a battle hardened warrior and 4 turns to build.
Build (?) a veteran, scarred, all mighty warrior ? [this seems genetics!hehe ]

I ain't complaining but would feel more like it if he would come out of normal rank and file troops, earning his experience in the battlefield, just as the legendary swordsman event.

But nonetheless he's one little[giant!] cornerstone of the new model armies, and leading a main charge...

Same to ninjas, but these shadowy fellows are by far the best unit rice can buy, but that's another thread.

See u all out in the field.

I agree. The Kensai seem more like a fantacy character more than any thing else. A cross between Andre' the giant and a dexterous sumo Jackie Chan, stung out on nose candy. I feel they take the realism out of the game. Althought I have to admit, they work great in bridge crossings.
Hopefuly CA does'nt stray to far off the realism path,or we might find Puff the magic fire breathing dragon in Crusaders, serously I doubt it.
As for the silent and invisible black pajama rading party? Well make your opinion.
I sound like I'm winning, but believe me this is by far the best strategy war game I have ever seen, and the boys at CA deserve a lot of praise. Lets hope thier not to far out in fantacy land.

Well, kensai aren't exactly something the devs made up for the game. They were "battle hardened" because they spent all day every day in the dojo, learning how to kill lots of people, challenging other schools, etc..

Also, i think there are stories about one extremely well-trained man slaying dozens...

Kensai - a highly specialized unit with a highly specialized purpose. Use him wrong and he WILL die quickly.

Battlefield Ninja - the deadliest unit on the field against infantry, bar none. The challenge - using them effectively. They are stealthy to a point, but they do have vulnerabilities. The most challenging and rewarding unit you can have.

I think it was a fair decision to make the training time for Kensai & BN longer. That way we won't get loads and loads of them (which is unrealistic). So it's up to you whether you want to commit to such a training time. Also I like the fact that these two are quite specialised units and not (almost) unbeatable like the monks in STW1. You really need to use them carefully and cleverly. They add fun to the game and are not units that you just churn out every turn. (like you can do with legendary armour legendary honour legendary weapons monks)
