I see one field, and two opposing groups.
The field is Shogun in its self-essence.
One group defends to be more competitive to use the new morale system. Being this "the maximum result with minimum effort".Of course there are lots of factors that contribute, but morale is the major one in strategy. History is full of hasty retreats, Persians against Athens, Eastern Roman Empire facing the Huns, Bodicca chasing the Romans, do i need to mention Mongols ? It were all crucial battles in Man's history. That's what makes a tactical battle game. It's the simulation of crucial battles. How come morale is forfeit in the most dangerous fields, those not of A.I. but against other mind ?

The other comprises all people who see this game in its essence. Being able to field balanced armies, learn the lay of the land, reading it ti achieve tactical advantage of your opponent.
Not being quite a new player, although not regular online, i had to learn how shogun really works the hard way. It's fun to learn the game, if you ever played strategy. ( myself be player of tabletop battles, hexagonal types ( don't know the exact term but if u play u understand i hope.), turn-based and RTS.

New morale system, takes away some of the best things Shogun ever offered. The time i dedicate to this game can only be surpassed by the oldie LordsoftheRealm and tabletop battles.

    This matter is major importance.
A patch with only morale changed would give developers more time to prepare a second one with all the other reasonable changes.

    I agree completely.
