    Howya?,
I'm new here but I have a question I hope you'd answer for me: how do I get my Daimyo to procreate... you know...?

I had smashed both the Oda clan and Shimazu and was about to crush the last remaining rebels when my Damyo; Lord Mori... well, kicked the bucket...

    Please help...

I'm interested to know, too. A similar thing happended to me. I wonder if Daimyo are more inclined to...uh...well, you know, if they are at home (in a castle). If there is a way to increase the likelihood that he produce an heir (I don't want to hear about positions, tonics or anything like that ) then someone fill us in.

It's not quite random, although there is a bit of that in the heir-producing system for STW. Heirs are reflected by the actual history of the real, historical daimyos; for example, the STW Oda Nobunaga comes of age right about the time the real Nobunaga did, etc. It varies with each clan; Hojo has heirs like crazy while Shimazu hardly any at all.
Now to the random part: While births and early come-of-age heirdom can be predicted, just where these sons enter the game more chancy. Until an heir assumes the throne (and gets the heavy cav bodyguard), he is assigned to a banner as it's leader and can easily be killed without you knowing it. You then might suddenly find yourself without heirs while you were expecting to inherit. In another vein, the exact death of your original daimyo is less fixed and some can last for years longer than thereal-life counterpart did.

You can affect it, but only a little. Leaving your Diamyo at home IN a castle (not just in a province with a castle) will SLIGHTLY increase your chance at having some hair - oops I mean - an heir. So if you have moved him out of one, say at the start (for his usefullness in battle), prop his arse back in a big chair when your not using him.

Is this a simulation that couch potatoes get more love? Cuz if so, I can prove em wrong!

My wife says that male sperm is faster but dies sooner. So a position that gets the goods close to the egg should produce heirs...I know. I know. I couldn't resist.

Okay...back on topic. I'm going to keep my daimyo at home and let you know if it works. It seems random...is there a formula?

Tried that one all ready. Left even all the hiers in the castle from start to finish......no such luck.
All though, I did have one diamyo live to 102 playing Mori.

It seems pre-set to me , like in STW. I even had a list for the original game with the year of birth of heirs, their names and their honor at the beginning of their adulthood.

You gave me an idea. I'll start a thread for a bit of a contest. Who has the oldest daimyo? To contend, you must have a screenshot of your daimyo info.

The winner gains the forum's respect and bragging rights.
