    Wow, pretty dead here lately.
anyway, got an email from penguin books, there is a new samurai fiction book coming out, called 'across the nightingale floor' (which I assume refers to the squeaky 'alert board' floors common in various temples and castles) written by someone by the name of Lian Hearn (which is apparently a psuedonym - internet gossip has the authors real name as Gillian Rubinstein, apparently up until now an author of 'young adult' books - another search shows that the movie rights were bought by universal pictures).
The book itself isn't coming out until August, but there is an advance copy on the way to me now, so I'll let everyone know how it is after I finish it. It looks like it is going to be some sort of 'fantasy' samurai book. I found its location on amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...771956-8977559 - you can find a review there. sometime soon the website should be up, I was told it will be www.theotori.com. I have permission to put up an excerpt from the book on the samurai archives website, so I should have that up sometime next week.
I guess it looks interesting, says the author has had a life-long interest in Japan. as long as the author has an 'accurate' non-clavellian view of japan, it might be good. who knows? Could this be the next 'Shogun' or 'Taiko', or just one for the recycle bin?

Only the links to Amazon work. Would be possible to merge into the Vlad The Impaler thread..."books(novels) about sengoku or whatever related" ???

    Cheers Cheetah.
