    Default Samuri William

Thought a few of you might find this interesting.

Samurai William:The Man Who Unlocked Japan by Giles Milton.
Just read about it in the Times Culture mag,and I,m off to order a copy.
Im pretty sure I don't have to tell you lot who Will Adams was.
    That's it.

Will Adams was the real person, from which the character John Blackthorne, from the Novel Shogun was based.
    That's it.

Done reading the book: Good book but wrong title. Samurai Adams is a small side show to all the tales of contemporary English traders. Now, the stories of these English traders is interesting, but not what the title suggests and what I bought the book for. If one is truly interested in William Adams, the book is not recommended.

i read it a couple months back.. really good, not as exciting as "shogun" lol but definately very interesting. by the way winkel, its called the man who ulocked japan because without him the english and dutch traders wouldnt have lasted a week. Anyways i have another reccomendation for you guys. this time its about the dude that eventually unified japan and became shogun and the end of the games time frame.. its called "Tokugawa Ieyasu-Shogun" by Conrad Totman
