i was thinking what will they improve on the maps im hopeing there will be way to climb up mountins as was the case in a Roman siege on a certian fortress on a huge mountin (cant rember name) but anyway the romans that climb up that hill opened the gates for the romans comeing up the hill.

Also i would like to see river crossings where men can go across small rivers to flank etc.

On farm fields men should slow down as the case in Agincourt Some would say that why they lost.

Volcanos would be a nice thing to see and maybe the odd
time it erups why your massucring the enemy

hills playing more of an advantage and disadvantage.

    anymore ideas....

I think it would add a great deal to the feeling of reality in the game. Imagine the possibilities when confronted with marshland, underwood, man-high crops like corn, dense and less-dense forests, tiny streams and roaring rivers, plowed fields and hedges.
All would have a certain impact of course, with some units being better able to cope with the terrain than others.
I think this could be a major factor in balancing the barbarian tribes.

So far, good idea Stormer Hope they implement something like it.

Agincourt wasn't lost because of farmland (it wasn't even fought on it)
The reason the fench lost was for a few, incredibly stupid reasons
1)the let the english take a good position with both flanks protected by woods
    2) the French were so packed together when attacking that many of them suffocated in their armor
and 3) They're French, the odds are already stacked against them JK

To be fair the ones who suffocated had been knocked down face first in the mud

Buthtey were so packed that many of them couldn't use their weapons properly.

OTOH hedges played a huge part in the defeat at Poitiers and many other battles.

no the really muddy fields on the ay of agincourt is what let the french down because

    1) The french knights could not charge the english

    2) men moved so slow because the mud thats why the lost so many

back to the topic yea small rivers are a must and to climb moutins

Yes lets put a unit in the game whose sole purpose is to disgust the hell out of the enemy by soiling itself. But of course he meant that the soldiers should get dirty from fighting.

What about more places to hide like in brush and crops for infantry but not cav. The ability to use buildings on the battle field esp in defence (cav can't chage a house unless they have REALLY BIG horses oh and weapons). Weather effects more subtle but more important as per the ground getting slippery or icy, deep mud ect ect but only in extreme weather. Blood, much blood. So your enemy can slip in their own mwahahahahaaa.

I laud the idea where one could construce for example pontoon bridges or get the men to swim across (as long as it is shallow, or they are not wearing heavy armour). The enemy on the other side would of course massacre teh troops unless you persuaded them to back off (masses of bows / ballistas and the like).
Even the simple expedient of making troops lie down (or in the case with the barbarian tribes) actively hide in or indeed climb the trees so that far better ambushes can be concoted.
Hiding the troops by lying down was used with great effect at Waterloo, but I am sure that there were other instances of this basic tactic being used.
Other options such as the presence of crops and small streams and the like would be good, but possibly rather CPU intensive to do well.

The one major terrain type missing from the Totalwar series so far is heavy woods.

This should involve much more serious restrictions to movement and combat.
