I posted that cause I tried STW without the MI today... and guess what : it seems better like that to me.
SeljukSinan, do u use a patch on your original STW ? 1.12?
if yes, where do u find it ... it seems that all the "pure" STW patch links are dead

We have STW, STW:MI and MTW ...
but STW is still the best (for me at least)...

I have uninstalled STW now, but you can find the patch on .com or from any one of the clan sites.

Yes. STW (v1.12) is the best of all.Originally Posted by [b
I have seperate folder for each version: STW (v1.12), STW:MI, STW: Mods (such as Ikki), MTW (v1.1), my own MTW mod (base on v1.1). There will be one for MTW:VI.
I play all of these frequently. Since the release of Total War series (plus OFP series), I have not had any extra time for other games. Sometimes, I even had to cut short my sleeping/eating/rest time because I just couldn't stop playing.
Well I have STW installed and unpatched.....The game is the finest of them all I agree. IMHO the only thing wrong with the original was the monks, if balanced armies are used there are no greater battles

I've just returned to what I now think is the best computer - game of all time (15 years experience), and without my manual with the CD-Key for MI I was forced to play pre-MI (v1.12) for a while. Very hard if you ask me - all my skills only brought me into the tedium of fighting an Oda Horde every second season. But with MI now installed, it seems too easy now.
My best choice now will be to play MI, but to edit the startpos to give myself a hell of a hard time during the first years. I believe Mid and Endgame are 100% more enjoyable with MI, because the comp doesn't cheat, because you can manage depleted units better, etc.
The bribing cost for rebels is ridiculously cheap. So using bribes is the most unbalancing thing you can ever do. I therefore decided bribing is too unhonorable for a me.
I enjoy Shogun in the only way - without MI.
But I havwe also a tick for the MTW... is it ok for an answerr?
Believe and the wings of war shall be your guardian. God speed my sword, make my rage my power. Bless the land that has borned and raised me. Purify my soul God, allow me to be the one that rises in the blaze of glory, and let again victory be mine. In the name of Saint Andrew
Ah Shogun 'Tis one of my personal favourites
I am a 'pure' Shogun player, v1.12... I do own Mongol Invasion, but, well, meh, its not a patch on Shogun (an accidental pun, there).
One thing I do like, is that in this version of Shogun, the Samurai Archers really are worth their high cost. They are really deadly, especially to Ashigaru, but no more than I would expect in real life.
My first post in the Sword Dojo Hey there
