Haven't won yet but I think I probably will... it's about 830 and I have the largest income, the whole of Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the very south-western tip of England (where Cornwall is now). I've got a few provinces in Ireland built up to produce nearly the top troops (+4 morale, armoured, beweaponed - is that a word? - bonnachts are LETHAL).

The real stumbling block is going to be getting a proper foothold on the mainland, I will either have to attack the Saxons from my currently held province or make an amphibious assault somewhere else. But my troops outclass most others except the Vikings (who've never attacked me and are now dwindling in power).

As an aside - does anyone who's up on the technical side of the game know the exact stats of the Bonnachts' missiles? They seem very deadly, though this may just be because there are 100 per unit A couple of rounds of spears plus a charge seems to be enough to see off most units, especially if they're already in combat with Gallowglasses.

I'm the Irish at the moment,Ireland is mine,along with all of wales. The viking alliance is vital for me because it hopefully keeps ireland safe,at least until the saxons have been defeated and some of England is secured.

All I can say is... aaarrggghhhhh civil war

I committed the cardinal sin of not keeping a close enough eye on one of my generals. The rebels are vastly outnumbered, but defeating them will erode my invasion force for the mainland. Also, they control one province entirely, so I may lose buildings retaking it... so annoying

Ah well, I shall see to it that every last one of the rebels is hung, drawn and quartered If my king ends up with a cruelty vice for me taking out my aggression, so much the better
