Has TW gave any sign that they will do a LOTR mod - TW: Middle earth?

It will enable players to play some of the epic battles of Middle earth.

I guess some units, like the Balrog, will have similar traits of the sword-saints of TW: Shogun.

There were a few LOTR MODs in development, however I believe all of these have not come to pass, most have I believe stopped due to time contraints or problems with the MOD itself, there are possibilites I believe that these MODs may be re-started, but I would not know.

The precursor of the Total War game engine was used in EA: DARK OMEN. It featured elven archers, orcs, etc.. It was fun an quite revolutionary for its time.

I hope that TW will do something similar with the Tolkien legends. It would be too much to expect them to do a copy of the LOTR trilogy. But some of the big battles in LOTR would fit quite nicely with the TW engine.
