Choppy strategy map?

Greetings all. I finally installed MTW the other day (been sitting on it for a while) and I'm loving it. But is the strategy map choppy for everyone? It's not terrible, and I can play with it alright, but I don't remember STW running like this. And considering the graphical complexity of the strategy map, I don't see why it should be so...

I've got a GF2 and 1.1GHz CPU. Battles run beautifully with full detail. But the strategy map... I dunno... the mouse is laggy and the map doesn't scroll around smoothly. My compy just too old?

I'm not sure what your problem is...Mine can run fine on an old 1 GHz machine with an older video card than yours, but the battles run pretty slow

Dang. At first battles ran like crap for me, but I checked around here and then went and turned down my agp aperature size, and presto. Smooth as can be with full detail. But the strategy map. You'd think the framerate there would only be bounded by your refresh rate (if you've got vsync on, at least).

Hello Covak. Thanks for joining the ranks. Your problem is a common one.

Try looking here first: Nvidia card settings. There may be some information in there to help you get yourself in all fixed up.
