Having given up creating a new faction, im working in replacing the aragonese with the portuguese in VI. All is good, except that i can't find the aragonese flag for the strategic map castle. You know, the little square flag on top of every castle you own. I would be a happy dude if someone out there could tell me where is this flag (name of file/folder)

    Don't give up PR

There were so many threads, at The Org, in the pre-release to VI whereby CA staff informed us of what was possible in terms of modding for VI.

Hence we all bought VI ... hoping for a 'modding heaven' ... sigh

Unfortunately, after 6 weeks, many/most experinced modders are giving up with the hyped potential that we all expected in VI.

Is the modding potential of VI inherent in the product? ... er ... yes Presumably CA would'nt lie to us (would they )

Is the modding potential of VI realisable for modders? ... er ... NO Absolutely not.

But don't give up. It would be great to create a small a griup who can crack such problems and provide the solutions to this community.

Unfortunately, if you give up you'll just be accepting that CA can hype a product and thus increase it's sales whilst showing disrespect to modders that been similarly hyped.

I REFUSE to accept that CA can, considering the responses (by CA staff) to modders posts at 'The Org' in the run-up to the VI release, really release the VI product and totally ignore this modding communities hopes.

Ok, the CA forums don't cater for modders - so this may tell us something. Unfortunately, for CA, 'The Org' DOES cater for a thriving modding community for CA products.

Is CA going to tell this group that after 6/8 weeks of attempts by very experienced and very committed modders, no one has succeeded in realising the most minimum potential in adding new factions for the VI expansion?

Will CA show us how it should be done ...

... or was it really just marketing hype?

It probably was marketing hype Well...

If this wasn't the case it would be real easy. I know all about the files that need to be changed by now. I've erased the aragonese almost completly. Im now working on getting GA to work. I need to set Portugal as the faction homeland for it to work...

The problem in the major campaing must be something related to the hard code. Me and other people have cracked up all those *.txt and gone as far as one could without getting real nasty (touching the exe and engine files... brrrr it gives me the creeps). It's really strange but i think that someone in CA didn't do the homework. If they took one afternoon to create a new faction without overwriting pre-existing ones and test the dam thing they would find that there are problems. A CTD is never fun

Maybe in the future there will be a way to do it... who knows... im keeping a close eye on this forum... In the meantime i can't wait to blast the almos with my 8 star general/king (hehehe, maybe i over did, it but this mod is for my personal use only, so nobody will complain...). If there is something i can do to help someone add a new faction i will help. All that hard work trying gave me a lot of experience on those files... anything i can do i will do it. I just can't wait, and until then no arogonese in my early camp fun.

I just wanna thank eat cold steel for all his trying... but i think he is going against the tide, i real don't think CA cares for modders, wich is really dumb since many modern games depend on modding for increased success (half-life, neverwinter nights, warcraft 3...).
