It's not allowed to disagree with eachother inhere, criticism smothered, a hint of sarcasm or even a tiny pun not welcome.
    Please delete my Org account.

Well, Kas, it´s seems this org is not the place we thought it is. Our opinions, thoughts and ideas are unwelcome here. They will shed no tears over your decision to leave, they care a shit about you (no offense intended).

Kas, I know you too good. I am sure you are eager to create an alternative place, arent you

I suggest you embed it into Roman TW and call it "forum romanum".

The goal of the ORG leaders is clearly not to show efforts to have an unique community. Like CA they don´t care about the MP and they are negligent enough to force unhappy people who maybe (no decision is made yet) create a competitor to the TW.ORG.

The Animal Farm was something like a "protest". But it was not really an alternative MP fansite.

On the other hand, I doubt there will be another good working fansite. Cause human being can easily change the world but creating another one is a tough job. Same for the fansite here. We d like to see some changes here, but we never demanded a new one.

Maybe Kas is the next Dan?

As much as I derided it earlier, there does exist a fledgling alternative site that was created by Emperor Dacosta a while back. There is a post about it in the Tavern and SeljukSinan knows where it is. If there is to be any talk of an alternative to totalwar.org, that is the first spot that comes to mind.

Seljuk: can you supply a link to the site I mentioned? Some people might want to go there.

This is the site you are referring to:

    http://www.legiontotalwar.com/

One comment for what it's worth:

The development that took place over the last couple of days makes me wonder how old some of the people are on this forum (no offence intended at the younger patrons, many of which behave more mature that myself at their age).

It is astonishing how childish the reactions over rather petty topics became (how a discussion on unit fatigue can almost turn into a flame war and be taken as an opportunity to pay old bills is beyond grasp for me).

I also took a look at the Animal Farm and it became clear that this it not the first time that two factions used the .org to settle personal differences.

I am not active in the MP community so I assume that a lot of the guys here do not give damn about the SP guy opinion, but I came to this forum as I found the overall good atmosphere very inviting and was impressed how lots of people of a variety of ages and from a number of countries discussed their TW experiences and questions in a constructive way. This extended also to the "Tavern" were in spite of often diametrical opposed opinions on hot topics the atmosphere always good friendly again and people treated each other respevtfully.

All the more I am disappointed by the recent events were I good the impression that people started to fight just for the sake of it (that goes for both sides that are imvolved here).

I can understand some of the arguments of both sides and I cannot believe that grown up people cannot settle some issues without splitting the community or going at each others throats.

I would appreciate if a solution could be found that keeps all people who seem to have invested a lot in the TW community (gain that goes for both sides) at the table

Maybe it's a bit naive of me to have such expectations, but I decided some years ago that in some cases it's more enjoyable to stay naive than to become cynical

Just my 2 cents, not sure if anybody cares about it but I had to let it out (if you do not let it out it will cause pimples )

This whole tera mess was just a little ahead of my time so I don't really know much about it but why is everyone jumping ship? Running the .org is a damn hard job and admitedly banning magyar, wolf monster cagan, and kocmoc may have been a little harsh but starting up a new one is definately not the way to fix it. Inevitably the old problems will arise. If we can try and reason within the .org things will be fixed much quicker. tempers need to be calmed and, I don't know, some form of negotiation could take place, mediation whatever you want to call it. but leaving will just make things worse.
give tosa and the mods the benefit of the doubt. they've done a fine job so far and now is not the time to bail. a little ranting and unclear (more than that I know) but bailing and squabbling will not solve anything. just needed to get that out. hope its comprehensible.

It's sad to see people leave this place. It's becoming more and more desolate around here, especially in the last couple of days. Even in the SP forums, there are less new posts.
If someone wants to leave, they should. It's their right to do so. It's just sad because it didn't need to happen, just a little more effort from everybody coud have avoided this.

And btw, Ser Clegane, I've joined for the same reasons you did, but somehow this "friendly spirit" is fading the more people leave.

Yep ... maybe I should really give it a shot - I just hope that my 56k modem will be sufficient (at least for joining a battle)

56K modem is no problem at all as long as your pc is up for the job.

56 K shall be OK if you just join and don't host 4v4 with huge unit size... What your PC is might be more troublesome.
    Anyway, give it a try.

So far, I still see many ppl on line... VI foyer got close to 100 last sunday..

Thanks for the replies ... the PC should not make any problems (Athlon 1600, 512MB) so I might pay the foyer a visit on the upcoming weekend

Yep, contrary to what you will hear from some guys in MP, 56k is absolutely sufficient for online play if you got a good machine. And yours seems to be ok. You can host 2v2 with no problems, and even 3v3 if standard unit size with little or no lag. Lag usually comes from players joining with borderline PC's..
Although there are some people in there who won't even let a 56ker join their games. But usually you'll get a game.

Elite please dont take the actions of some and place the balme on all. I understand you are probibly very upset vut we arent all bad. I myself am 17 and learn alot by coming here. If you can keep your cool (an maybe just not post here anymore) you will make friends 10 fold. I noticed flames wars most often happen outside of the actual game posts, where most of the loyal and fun people are.

Dam i must go down to the justing fields and check that out... It seems there is an all out war there... between "clans". Hmmm, actually, that is kind of dumb, if a guy is banned because of a spirited argument over some important belief in the Tavern, so be it. But getting into a flame war to the point of getting banned in the justing fields? I must check this out...

Of course, I'm not the one to raise this problem for discusion, but my opinion is that we really need a fresh start. This is why so many people are going to www.legiontotalwar.com or everywhere else. At the .org, most argues come from the past, and this is only the moment when people burst out. The reasons seem childish because the reasons are childish; this is not about now, it's old stuff.

So, a sugestion for TosaInu: why not let all this go? Of course, you've administrated these forums corectly in my opinion, but lets show some tolerance. Make a public invitation for all the old members who left these forums or we're banned (Monsta, Magyar etc.) to re-enter the .org. This would not be a matter of dignity, but a matter of mature thinking and tolerance. They would have to let go to all the grudges, the .org members also. And everybody would have to assume the responsability for the .org's rennaisance.

I'm sure everybody is tired of irony and raving and wants the old times back, the times that were before Medieval and even Shogun. And everybody would agree that the .org must stand united. Of course, the other forums are good, but the .org has the tradition necesary to unite the comunity. The .com can't do that, too few vets and to many new people. The .com is the Entrance Hall. Let this be place for the comunity. This isn't ment to sound pathetic, just true from somebody who observed this community since 2000 and really enjoyed the time spent here.

    Again, just Nowake's opinion

I was a bit upset when I made my posting...no need to explain it all again I guess, but I'm still here...and I'm glad my account wasn't deleted, because I think this was and still is the best TW community website in town.

Many made mistakes and behaved bad (myself included), the Net was founded and the (online) community became divided, perhaps this was unavoidable, but it's a pitty nonetheless.

I'm still very disapointed about what happened and these events contributed to my departure from the clan scene all together. For some obscure reason people are not able to disagree with eachother without getting personal (or worse). But still...It's pitty many left the Org and I do miss the flamboyant characters who used to make this place very lively.

I don't know how, but I hope something can and will be done to get rid of the "us and them" mentality I see now. Won't be easy, because many are headstrong, hold grudges or even see eachother as mortal enemies. Very inmature and damaging.

Some might say: "Go to the Net and find it there perhaps?"

Well I do visit the Net forums also, but...Nope it's not there either...it was here...and now it's lost. Vague...I know.

    Cheers Kas.

If everybody who was banned would state their commitment to TW and the community all would be better. And the .org would have lots to gain from this.
