LOL it is no copy paste. Neither are those mercenaries. This is a screenshot from a multiplayer battle. Basically my enemy was Englandm but somehow some of his units ended up with Egyptian shields. Also in an SP battle last night I attacked an Italian Genoese Sailors unit with a unit of Arab Infantry. The Genos ran for itm as i zoomed in I saw one of the Genos running along with the Arab infantry attacking his own mates LOL. I'm looking for the screenshot now, will post it.

Yep that's exactly it.

Suggestion: BTW you shud resize that screenie I think it will be too wide for most screens. I think the best size is about 600*400.

Uh - it is not a bug. You can decide with VI which color your troops are.

You can have Byzantine colored English Troops, the only thing that will stay is the three lion banner of the English.

EDIT: Sinan, I see - I hope I did not annoy too many modem users. I am getting paid by Samsung to demonstrate the advantages of 19-21 monitors.

Please look at the first shot. You cannot choose to be English with Egyptian shields, complete with insignia can you ?

Hm... I was German and hab Byzantine Shields, I think the same applies to the Egyptians too. Just fiddle around a bit before starting Multiplayer, perhaps you can confuse the enemy by looking nearly identical. Hide in Woods and confuse him.

Apparently ypu can. I just tested it.

I chose the English, and picked egyptian colours. And sure enough the Egyptian insignia was on their shields.

I have done this before, but somehow this minor, but important detail, have always missed me.

(think I need some slee, I mean they aren't exactly small those shields now, are they. )

Personally on the Egypt-English issue in my very humble opinion it is a bug. It makes no sense to be able to choose another factions shields and banners and a different factions units, to me.

Right what are your thoughts on this one ?
