Q about Turks and JHI

Hi, I was wondering if I start a campaign on Early as the Turks, will I be able to get Jannisary Heavy Infantry eventually?

I remember reading that the Turks on early are the Seljuk Turks and they don't get the JHI. And that High and Late turks are Ottoman turks and they are the ones that get the JHI. Did I read this right or am I mistaken?

You will be able to train them eventually if by eventually you mean starting around 1320 (don't know the exact date) when the Late Period begins. JHIs can only be trained then.

jannies are availeble from high age and ottoman troops availeble fron late (altough the ottomans are hardly worth the trouble)

Yes, you can train janissaries and ottoman troops even if you start the game from the early era. Once the clock strikes 1205, the high era begins, and janissaries become available. Then, in 1321, the late era begins and you can start training ottoman troops. The ottoman infantry are quite good general purpose troops, while the ottoman sipahi are pretty useless when compared to other late era troops.
One more thing: in the late era, your sultan and royal princes will spawn in units of Sipahi of the Porte, instead of Ghulam Bodyguards. Thats part of the seljuk/ottoman thing, which is flavor, and doesn't have more impact on gameplay.

Also sometimes on jihad you get janisaries - even when you havent developed far enough to train them.
