anyone ever tried to absolutely flood a provience with so many units that hardly any space is left?

    Tell us of your experiences

I recently flooded a small provence with 30 spies. revolts instantly popped up every year (but, where small revolts. larger numbers are peseantry.)
Some say, "Attack is the best form of defence..."
Some say, "Counterattack is the best form of defence..."
    I say, "Go beserk!"

I've only ever tried it in STW, but that is a different world.

Yup in MTW 1.0 is was easy to get a revolt by dropping in a few spies, In 1.1 it was harder but still possible, I thiught about balances but CA thought otherwise.

In Vi spies are caught in droves and virually useless for revolts, wt and bf's just kill your spies/assasins stone dead.

And yes I tried a trap on the GH , I had 25 upgraded spies in Kiev and when they took the province I lost 23/25 in the first year(and 3 assasins),

So if you want massed spies in vi forget it.

BTW if things are too cramped try the x/y buttons to clear away a few troops etc.

Dropping so much spies ends in a sure revolt. It's effective, not yet chivalric, but effective...

Incidentally, I find this to be a good way to predict the AI's next moves.

We know that it does indeed plan a few moves ahead, at least. This is in evidence whenever a spy informs you that the Spaniards are planning a major attack in two years, apparently against the Almos, or whoever.

I may be imagining things, but it seems to me that an AI-controlled faction will begin flooding a province with agents a few years before it attempts to take that province. How many times have you seen Saxony inundated with Danish princesses, emmisaries and bishops?

Of course, sometimes the sheer number of defending troops in the target province dissuades the planned attack from ever going ahead.

I love it when the Danish invade Saxony. It's always a bridge battle so all I have to do is place 3 feudal sergeants and 3 archers. And after the cream of the Danish army has died a pointy death I annex their pathetic little kingdom. Fun, fun

i once flooded a province with many many bishops and cardinals, it was only after 10 years that i realised it weas an otthodox province and would be ages before a rebellion occured (doh&#33
