If province to be invaded has a small garrison in the fort, bride the garrison then invade. It will be a siege relief, you fight the army outside and you keep the buildings.

If the garrison is big and the cost of bribing is huge, invade and during the siege bribe the garrison. You and they lose some people due to the seige though.

I'm not sure whether this works for spies opening the gate, can anyone confirm? The odds of it late game is 0%.

Perfect for those Vikings who want to keep buildings.

Seems like without trying that tactic taking provinces and keeping buildings is a bit of a gamble.

Don't suppose anyone knows of any sort of statistic that would disprove my theory, or am i just going to have to hope, that buildings are saved.

Also has anyone burnt down all the buildings in a captured province and then attacked another on, its rather useful in crusades, or if you know that your surrounded and are going to lose the province.

The castle tactic works with rebels also. If there is a group in the castle bribe them the year after the other province army.
An army in a province takes 2 years to come over but an army in a castle takes only one, so bribe the province army, make sure they accept then bribe the castle garrison and you get a province with army and buildings intact.

The only other time I have ever gotten provinces completely intact is when there is no castle at all, or the enemy abandons the province. Bribing a rebel army in a province will still see them loot it when they take control of the province.
