In you live anywhere within reasonable reach of Luxembourg. or even if you do not and know your blood type, marrow type, please consider this message seriously.

I have checked at this hospital myself and the case is genuine. There is a boy here in need of help. If you want to check for yourself just dial +352 313170. Even if you are far away and have the same marrow type, I am sure that the Luxembourgish state, medical system, and the boy's parents will intervene to do the necessary to get the transplant to the child.

Please dissiminate this message to all those you know can be of help.

If you want to help and have any questions contact the number or myself at katsujin_ken@hotmail.com

    Thank You.

bone marrow donor; Recherche de donneur compatible

    Hi,

Please take a look at this message. I checked with the hospital and I was
told that this is the very truth. Michou

    Dear all,

Little David,12, from Luxembourg, has leucaemie and is currently between
life and death. He desperately needs to find a compatible bone marrow donor.
PLEASE, do not delete this message and read the message below the
    photo.Doctors at the Clinique
Pediatrique de Luxembourg ( 313170 ) give him one month to live from now at
latest. David Simoes Fonseca has seen his child's dreams disappear on April
1st 2001 when he found out he had leukemia.
Everyone around him thought that he was cured until April 1st of this year
when he was told the disease had come back.
Today, he desperately needs to find a bone marrow donor. His parents beg
anyone reading this message, aged less than 80, to go for a blood test to
    see if you are compatible.

His doctor Selligman Serge, from the Clinique Pediatrique de Luxembourg (
Kanner Klinik 31 31 70) will confirm to you that there is absolutely no risk
for the donor. Your body replaces this bone marrow 2 weeks later.Only 2000
people have been for the test

without success. We can not let this little boy die without trying to help
him because donating bone marrow is a sign of love and compassion, and
because today he is the one in need of it , but it could be one of your
    beloved tomorrow.

Please find bellow the address of the laboratory, open from 8:00 am till
5:00 pm. Please mention at the entrance that you are for David.

To increase the chances to find the ONE person who will be able to help him,
PLEASE forward this message to as many people as possible.

Thank you so much for him.

Thanks for posting the appeal Sinan. Best of luck and prayers for David. Not everyone has the emotional/spiritual fortitude necessary to even take the donor test. Hopefully enough people are moved by the appeal to find a donor.

Sinan you mentioned blood type. In David's case, is there a blood type more likely to yield a marrow type match? More people know their blood type than marrow type.

    Talking

Darn that is a question I should have asked the clinic when I called. I will do so when I am there tomorrow and post the answer.

That email was sent to me from BBH, it's a very reputable US bank I used to work for. It's the oldest privately held financial institution in the US.

    Brown Brothers Harriman

If you don't know Luxembourg is a tiny place and this boy's case will get the needed attention. The social system here is unlike in America and you can get medical treatment even if you have no insurance. They treat you first and send you the bill later. In a lot of cases, such as the few homeless, medical treatment is 100% subsidised by the state until they have homes and jobs. At that stage the case may be reviewed etc...what I am saying is that the state and the Duke are VERY capable of paying for people who need help. It is likely that the transplant will be bought using state funds. Well it better be if all else fails or else the Duke will HEAR FROM US There is even a Air Rescue service for the citizens for which you have to pay some small sum, but if you get sick in a foreign country they will come and fly you out to a location where you can be treated.

Therefore a person can even ask financial compensation for the transplant, and such a request may even be considered and granted.

About courage, I think I understand your point. It needs a great deal of courage to help someone. This is a TotalWar forum, we are mostly warriors here, though we may fight for different reasons. What do you they say in the American Military if duty calls: HOOOOOAAAAAHHHH

I hope I will be able to help, I dont know if I have the courage I think so. Anyway tomorrow is my day for the blood test. Life is transient and I have enjoyed my share of it. I don't think this transplant is life threatening anyway what difference does it make even if it is. I'm almost 30 and I know what I value most. I just thought about what you said Greg, I'm a bit scared but I know that whether it is life threatening to me or not I will do it without hesitation. This child is an innocent, there are many others like him. what if he was my son ?

    Please do dissiminate this information.
