Difficulty level

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to change the difficulty level in MTW once the game is underway?

Sorry, but if you want to alter the difficulty you will have to restart the campaign. I hope you don't loose too much if you choose to restart

Yes, I too have had that dilemma: chose a difficulty setting, only to find it 'too easy' or 'too hard' later.

I started actually paying attention to the game's advice on difficulty settings, when selecting a faction (remember? pick normal, then Poland, it says something like: Poland's player difficulty is harder than the setting you chose, then 5-6 paragraphs of background & strategic advice.).
