Actual Sequel or Add on?

The one thing the press release didn't mention was if this is the actual sequel to Shogun, or an add on that requires you to own the original game. If this is just an add on, I wonder if Creative Assembly would've been better off just moving on to Shogun 2. It's been so long since we heard anything, I thought they were working on the Second game by now. Which I assumed was going to deal with the Roman Empire. I'm still glad they're continuing the Series though.

At this point it's kind of difficult to tell, to me it looks more like a "Shogun Gold Addition", but there certainly are some new and interesting features. We'll just have to see how it pans out. However, in my opinion it's certainly not bad news.

Well, I think you only have to remember what they have said all aloong. There would be sequels and add-ons.

I don't know if Warlord will be a true add-on or a new release of Shogun. But they also announced before that new releases would include new settings, so yes, there will also be a new setting for Total War in the future. Probably it will be Romans. And yes, they are already working on it.
